super secret symbols and the cult of rpg(concerns us all)

No. I want a symbol or phrase to indicate that I'm a gamer, not a follower of Gary Gygax.

Fields of Blood: The Book of War. If it ever comes out, that is. BoVD. And I don't know why.

    The next 40$ 200-page hardcover fron WotC should be a . . .

Eden's Book of War is supposedly offering all of this, but according to the website, it looks like its been pushed back again to Christmas. :( I hope it does not suck.

    I am Threadkiller

[G.PITY] There, there... *pat pat pat* [/G.PITY] Anyway, WM, as some already mentioned, usually its the most intelligent post that ends up killing threads. If you kill threads, you should maybe take some pride in that, instead of wallowing in your own filthy grief. I think you should...

    times they are a changen....

I feel its both, but moreso the latter. When I read through the 3e PHB for the first time, I could definitely feel the influence of "those card game people". Piles and piles and PILES of super-combo feats. Those power-play boxes in Drag Mag and the PHB...c'mon. Its obvious. All WotC needs to do...

Which of these two directors would you choose for the next D&D Movie?

I'm not a fan of Tim Burton either. IMO, he's great on visual style, but can't tell a properly paced story to save his life.

Which of these two directors would you choose for the next D&D Movie?

You didn't like T2? Agreed. Mmm. Noooooooooo! Anyway, to answer the question, I'd go with Peter Jackson. He has the required experience and talent. I applaud Corey's passion and for overcoming impossible odds of getting the film made, but if the goal is to make a good film, than I wouldn't...

    Shyamalan's SIGNS - SPOILER-HEAVY DISCUSSION

If I may...a repost form the other thread... My take on the whole thing...the aliens were probing the earth, as mentioned by the army recruiter. Maybe they had our planet pegged for a possible invasion, and after their unsuccessful preliminary raid, decided to move on due to the toxic...

    console vs. computer

PC over console anyday. Part of the greatness of NWN and PC games in general is the online factor. Sure the consoles are starting to get their internet contraptions out on the market, but you still need an existing connection to use them I think...so why bother? And how can you create a module...

    Signs

spoilers........ The way I see it, DocM, the aliens were probing the earth, as mentioned by the army recruiter. Maybe they had our planet pegged for a possible invasion, and after their unsuccessful preliminary raid, decided to move on due to the toxic environment. Near the end, the guy on...

How big are the minifigs? Comparable in size to lego? I know megablocks and lego are interchangeable, but what about the minifigs? :)

Implied changes in Tolkien's Timeline in FOTR, in the film: what do you think?

If you must have an answer Edena, I would have to agree with JoeBlank and Tsyr- the timeline in the film was ambiguous for a reason, and the implied or even "imagined" shortened timeline neither improves no detracts from the story. Long in the book, short and more urgent in the film. Works both...

[OT] I am watching LotR right now.

I watched it last night. Watched all the extras, too (except the Enya video). And I'm pleased to report that the batteries in my BK Lord of the Rings goblet still work. And that the glow makes every beer look like Killians. :D :D :D :D

    Vin Diesel plays D&D

Agreed. D&D is too dang geeky. He'll end up bringing himself down more than lifting the game up. But its all good. Vin's ultra-cool alpha male manli-manliness will give him a high resistance. Now what if Matthew Broderick admitted he played? Forget it. Career over. :D

    D&D 3.1E: What to change?

Read Conaill's reply; that pretty much says it. I didn't mean making a new rule, just want to slap a name on an existing rule to help explain things. Avoiding an AoO by "movement only" could be called a withdrawl- something the player can actually declare without confusion. That way, all the...

    D&D 3.1E: What to change?

My sentiments exactly. I'd like to see the PHB v3.1 incorporate mostly rules clarifications, like the AoO description from Wheel of Time and CoC d20. It's explained so much better in those tomes. Add an official "combat withdrawl" action, and we're set. Grapple rules could be explained better...

    Dungeon Mag's Creature "token" inserts?

Hmmm. The thought had crossed my mind, but I wondered what Profantasy software would think. I suppose if I didn't sell the things everything would be fine, yes? I'll have to experiment to see if its possible.
