D&D 5E (2014) When do you expect that we will start seeing the 2nd printings of the 3 core books?

Mine stops at 2. So at least 2 printings of the PHB. :-) My MM and DMG stop at 1.

    D&D 5E (2014) Which non-Realmsian setting for you?

I second the "Greyhawk seems just as generic as FR" sentiment. I think it is mostly a nostalgia thing. If you started with Greyhawk you think it's grand, and if you started with the Realms ditto. I've played both extensively, and while Greyhawk feels more "limited" in the style (medieval...

    D&D 5E (2014) Mastermind monsters

A Titan who was a good titan but had been corrupted by an evil spellcaster. A Will o' Wisp who was opening portals and experimenting with creating aberrations as a means to gain godly powers from its new "followers".

D&D 5E (2014) Starter Set : killing someone unconscious (spoilers)

I did it using death saves, after the doppelganger stabbed Gundren once (first fail). My characters came one initiative too late to save Gundren once the doppelganger was dealt with. It was a great encounter, and the fact that Gundren died was a talking point for the rest of the campaign. It was...

    Deluxe Dungeon Master's Screen

4 out of 5 rating for Deluxe Dungeon Master's Screen It's a pretty screen and it is solid and thick. It is a four-panel landscape screen with a red dragon scene on the player's side and tables and sporadic artwork on the GM side. The tables included will be very welcome for novice GM's, such as...

    D&D 5E (2014) Which non-Realmsian setting for you?

I would love to see a new Dark Sun campaign setting book/box. Al-Quadim was my favorite 2e setting though, so my top vote goes to that. Honorable mention: Mystara and Ravenloft.

D&D 5E (2014) Bonus action and reaction spell - rules advice from WotC contradicting each other

Ouch. This will hurt our party's cleric, who has cast a spell AND a Healing Word through his bonus action to save many a situation from going bad. Thanks for looking it up in the book! Miniaturehoarder: Thanks for the clarification. :)

D&D 5E (2014) Bonus action and reaction spell - rules advice from WotC contradicting each other

Right. That makes sense, Shadowdweller00! Wolfskin: Yeah, that's how I read the rules in the Starter Set too, but the "preclude" made me question it. :)

D&D 5E (2014) Bonus action and reaction spell - rules advice from WotC contradicting each other

Exactly. Crawford says that the Misty Step precludes the Shield. Mearls says it doesn't. That's why I was hoping someone with the PHB could tell me who is right. :) I'm looking for the source of Crawford's reply within the book.

D&D 5E (2014) Bonus action and reaction spell - rules advice from WotC contradicting each other

"@sn0wraven Casting a bonus action spell does preclude casting a reaction spell on the same turn." Maybe I'm thick. Doesn't this mean that using Misty Step on his bonus actions makes him ineligible to cast the Shield as a reaction later in the same turn? Or am I switching around turns and...

D&D 5E (2014) Bonus action and reaction spell - rules advice from WotC contradicting each other

Here's the link. http://www.sageadvice.eu/tag/reaction/ Crawford says no, Mearls says yes (a short way down the page, October 22nd). Which is it according to the PHB? I am waiting for mine in the mail but I have a sneaky suspicion this exact scenario will come up during tonight's session...

D&D 5E (2014) Is a dwarf wizard still "playing against type"?

I've never subscribed to the notion of dwarves not liking magic. I've always seen them as more of a runecaster-type magic-user though. I like the way Warhammer has dwarven magic be intrinsic with runes and glyphs. Drager & Dæmoner was also a good thing for dwarven wizardry, as Staffan...

    D&D 5E Narrated Video Walkthrough

It's the second in his series. There was another one that lasted 30 minutes I believe. Edit: Seems to be pre 5e: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzLqcoGcxEo

D&D Basic Rules Website - A Handy Browseable Resource!

I can't seem to find this easy mobile access option? It's a bit of a scroll-fest for me to be honest. Is there an in-rules search function I'm not seeing? Using a Galaxy S4.

D&D 5E (2014) Divine Smite questions and a few comments about the paladin class

So I'm making a paladin for the Hoard of the Dragon Queen scenario, and was reading about "Divine Smite". I was curious: Can I choose to expend the spell slot after I hit? (the word "hit" in and of itself making me believe this, as I'd assume they'd use "attack" if it was before a potential...

    Lego minifigure: Mind flayer

Thanks a lot. :-) It never ceases to amaze me how many Lego products aren't released here in Denmark, despite the company being Danish. :) Edit: Wow, this Bricklink site is quite the treasure trove!

D&D 5E (2014) WotC will not allow translation of D&D NEXT.

Yep, that's the one. Paper minis, and two quite thick booklets with index cards for a bunch of rules and play tips and such, a sample "dungeon" map and a few handouts iirc. As for the German market: That one is very special. Germans translate everything. Everything! TV shows, movies, books...

D&D 5E (2014) WotC will not allow translation of D&D NEXT.

I have the D&D Black Box in Danish (I think it's called that) with the red dragon on the cover. It wasn't a bad translation, but getting the English books was a startling revelation into everything that was missing all the same. :-) I have a Danish system book called VP (Via Prudensia) and it's...
