To get back to the topic of the thread.... He will still be part of the team, he just won't be managing it, as far as I understand it. There is only so much you can do via IM or conference call as opposed to walking across the hall and knocking on a cubicle wall.

Some changes are being coming to the WotC community team, specifically Trevor Kidd. He has blogged about it here.

That was floated as a possibility for DDI. Shortly after it was cancelled as being far too unwieldy and hard to control, both on the WotC side as well as at the LGS side.

The chance that Trevor posted something without having run it through the various departments it touches for approval approaches 0.

What do you think the chances are that Trevor posted this without getting authorization first?

I will also poke people at WotC. (PS, thanks for being polite. Makes it much easier for me.)

My suspicion (and this is just a guess) is that we will start seeing more customizeability in the MB once the VT goes back up and they can make sure that this version imports well into the VT.

I have heard from a little bird that the update is in the process of being done.

Some more info from Trevor: The first batch, going out Monday, will include all subscribers that were in the previous phase of the beta. Dates for subsequent batches of invites will be given on Monday.

Trevor just posted that the next wave of VT invites will be going out on Monday. This phase of the VT beta will eventually (once all the invites have gone out, over several waves) include *all* current DDI subscribers who have opted into communications from WotC. New info as of 3/14/2011 Over...

If you have access to a program which allows remote control of your computer, you can use the tools on an iPad that way.

WotC does offer support to LFR, as well as the Ashes of Athas campaign: I believe that they have blanket permission to use 4E IP and trade dress. Granted, the AoA campaign is restricted on when and where it can be played. (Note that this is my understanding. I am not an LFR nor an AoA...

Keep in mind that sicne the change to Dungeon and Dragon magazines, DMaple, the poster who was doing an awesome job keeping the wiki up-to-date, is no longer doing it. It is completely crowd-dribven, so if you (or anyone you know) is interested in continuing doing it, feel free!!
