    D&D 3.x friendly fire 3.5

Yep, and I think it was 33,000 cubic yards outside.

    D&D 3.x friendly fire 3.5

Fireballs were even more fun in 1E. No dice cap and the spell effect filled a large volume of cubic feet. I saw a TPK once when the MU lobbed a fireball into a 10'x10'x10' room (caster thought the room was larger). The fireball blast volume ended up overflowing into corridor the pcs were in...

    Low fantasy settings

For the OP... Take a look at Mongoose's Conan RPG or Green Ronin's Thieves' World. Both are based on D20.

    epic level spells

I'll bet you it was Mayfair Games' "Archmagic" from their Roleaids series. It was produced to be used with 1E and/or 2E. When you describe the paper as parchment that makes me think it was that boxed set as I remember it having better than TSR production value.

    Opinion of Healer Class

Agreeing with some of the other posts that I would probably quit too. DMing is a learned skill. He'll get better over time or run out of players. Tried the dice rolling thing. I think this one died in a bar fight.

What are the greatest published adventures you've run?

For me: G1-3: Killing really big orcs is always fun. S4 Lost Caverns of the Unpronounceable Word. Lots of great new spells to be had. JG's City State of the Invincible Overlord. Not a module exactly, but we gamed many a session in that city.

    D&D 3.x 3.5 ~ Second Familiar?

Yes, for those 2; I think it is 4th level, but the rest don't. For the OP, either the extra familiar feat or obtain familiar feat should work fine for you. I don't see how the 2nd familiar will unbalance anything. Would be fun to watch it in play.

    D&D 3.x 3.5 ~ Second Familiar?

Agreed and Obtain Familiar is better than the class feature... 'For the purpose of determining familiar abilities that depend on your arcane caster class level, your levels in all classes that allow you to cast arcane spells stack.' Somebody here or on another board said they house ruled and...

Pre-gen PCs and Ready to Play Adventures

Also, you can probably find this even cheaper on eBay: Friday Night Six Pack (Adventure Set 2, 8002) - D20 / Open Gaming License RPGs - Dungeons & Dragons 3.0 & 3.5 Edition - Dungeons & Dragons - D&D and Other RPGs There were two sets of these, but they are for 3.0
