And where did I state companies are accepting of internal criticism? Sure, we're not going to hear from anybody inside WotC who disagreed with the decision. It doesn't mean they weren't all for it. Edit: it also doesn't rule out the staff coming up with the idea.

Have you ever heard of MCI? Do you know where their product "Friends and Family" came from? It came from one of the staff. It was not a top down decision from McGowan and his executives. Every business I've ever worked for encouraged everyone employed there to come up with ideas to generate...

It matters to me. How do we know the staff didn't come up with the idea and present it to management? I'll blame them if they were on board with it.

Eventually you run out of people to sell your core rulebooks to. If you want to keep your folks employed you have to look at creating new editions of the game. I don't begrudge them that ever, but I do have a problem with repealing the OGL everybody has been using. It's silly in a way in that...

That and if he had created an OGL for D&D back before TSR bought him out/sent him packing, he could have kept on making D&D products for sale instead of Dangerous Journeys (or as I call it, 'The Game of Unpronounceable Words' which in turn got crushed by his exit agreement.

I've purchased a lot of wizkids minis in the past year. I won't purchase any more from them as long as they have a D&D license...assuming the original OGL is invalidated by WotC. I'll let wizkids know too.

I downloaded everything in my drivethrurpg library that had the OGL this past weekend. Took a while.

How about the waves of great quality products that flooded the market? WotC would never have produced those products. The hobby will be diminished without those people making content useable with D&D.

We have the above three prestige classes that have spellcasting requirements, but introduce their own spellcasting progression starting with higher level spells instead of cantrips or 1st level spells. The three I listed above start with 4th level spells. Anybody know of any prestige classes...
