    What the heck is CircvsMaximvs?

I saw Eric's Grandma making out with the saxaphone player...and he was clearly not Eric's Grandpa! But don't tell anyone else! This is just between you, me, and the rest of ENWorld, OK?

    Advice for Warlords

My favorite one isn't even on the list. It's in the User-Friendly comic strip. "Don't fight like a man. Fight like an evil overlord."

Help! Someone's going to play a Frenzied Berserker!

Take a level of cleric with the Death domain, and give him the death touch when his HP is around 0 or lower. Death knell is good for this also. Buy scrolls of this spell. Or you can have him attack illusions. Frenzied Berzerker: Does Not Play Well With Others.

    Derogatory term for cohort

I tend to call a cohort "Gabrielle". And not in a pejorative sense. I like Gabrielle.

    Common(er) defenses for common creatures

By the nature of the medieval fantasy milieu, people are helpless against any monster, which is why the world needs heroes. But, I'm cool with intelligent countermeasures.

Dragon Shaman joins Mafia: HELP! (thieves' guild related)

What if dragons were the ruling royalty of the game world? Such as it is in the Dragonstar campaign setting? Dragons are royalty, half-dragons are nobility, and kobolds have an elevated status in this society. Also, this is a setting that mixes D&D with high-tech. If you check out the link you...

Spontaneous Casting Feats and Spirit Shamans

After playing a multiclass Spirit Shaman, the limited spells prepared weren't such a big deal. Sure, I can only prepare Barkskin as my only 2nd level spell. But I then cast it on everybody every day. Same with other buffs. And blowing away incorporeal undead is tons of fun! As to your...

Is an "all caster" party feasible?

I dunno. Harry Potter and his crew seem to do OK.

    Seeking Feats

The excellent polearm article with a plethora of polearm feats (and the article qualifies the longspear as a polearm) is in Dragon issue #331

    "Christmas roll" Certificate

Last year, I gave my players a Christmas roll. I took the idea that my DM had used in the past of giving each player a re-roll opportunity in his game each Christmas and transformed it into something geekier. I gave one of the following certificates to each of my players in my D&D game this last...

Rapid-fire Crossbow from "Van Helsing" movie

Although such a crossbow would be considered "mad science", it would be nice to have even a little technobabble explanation for how it works.

Have you given your kids fantasy names?

Kevin Smith, who did the Clerks movie, named his daughter Harley Quinn Smith. Comic books are fantasy, right?

My PCs have land! Now what?

News of the empire east of here expanding their empire every month by conquest. At this rate, they may directly threaten the PCs' region in half a year. The buffer regions are requesting enormous amounts of aid, bringing up old alliances for obligatory assistance. This can open up how the PCs...

    Replicating the earlier AD&D illusionist

For third edition, the best way to make a highly focused specialist wizard is by using the sorcerer class. Limited spell selection, but versatility on how the selected spells are used. And I'm running a beguiler in a camapign now. Doesn't help that almost everything we fight has a high will save.

    Aquatic Campaigns

Ooh! I third the motion for magically altered aquatic plants/animals that are actually potions and are small enough to swallow in one gulp. That is very thematically apporpriate. I would also allow regular potions to work if they are "breathed" in by water-breathing beings. Also, I have a...

    Aquatic Campaigns

Change the Swim skill so it works more like the 3.5 Jump skill. What you roll for your Swim skill check is how far you swim in feet as a move action (if you don't already have a swim speed.) -5 if your speed is 20' or lower. Also check the complete arcane for alternatives to potions and...

    Problem of math

I like the ideas posted so far. What I recommend: keep your system normal sized. Make propropultion technology such that at top speed it takes two months to get from one side of the system to the other. Make it a very risky thing to fly your ship at speeds that you would use in space while in an...
