By the looks of it, if you're a player you'll want your Heroes book and your Rules Compendium, so $40 MSRP. If you're a DM you'll want the DM's kit and Monster Vault, making it %80 MSRP. Speaking from what I've heard, I don't have the DM's kit yet.

I'll have to question the logic on this. Savage Worlds has software associated with making characters and campaigns on Metacreator, I don't think anyone can call that system overly complex and keep a straight face.

Generally, huge sized monsters are all at least Paragon, and all at least Elite (unless they're mounts). There's nothing wrong with scaling it down a bit, but you do run into problems when you go that far. Now, I would probably make a new monster about level 5 with attacks based on the T-Rex's...

I kinda figured this is why FLGS's frequently sell snacks as well. I'm yet to meet a gaming group that doesn't eat while they play.

The tokens, map, adventure and DM screen are all tools.

I'm going to vote for the control route. If you've already got a striker in the group and no leader, keeping enemies locked down and out of melee is going to be important.

The really ironic thing is that some of the harshest criticism for 4e when it was released involved the game being "dumbed down" too much. I remember comparisons to Sesame Street, stating the game was targeted at a wider audience.
