    Divine Shield question

Back to the topic, ;) allowing Divine Shield to exceed +5 would by definition be an Epic effect. Divine Shield is not an Epic Feat, so I'd limit it. OTOH, if you state that it doesn't penetrate DR then I'd probably let it go, since it's not a true Epic level power.

    Armor for monks

A better way is to make a ranger type for the skills, and to use the unarmed strike feat and greater 2 weapon fighting for the shield bashes. Or you could use The Fist from MoF. Hmmm, actually, wearing the shield doesn't disrupt your unarmed attack damage if you're a monk. With a bashing...

    [DMG] Fireball Wand Damage? Huh?

Heward's Cheesy Haversack is a must for the wizard on the go. It's gotten to the point where we refer to them as "Hewey" as a reference to Tommy, as in Tommy Hilfiger. "Who are you wearing?" "Well, the boots are by Gwaeron, the robes by the Archmage Mordenkainen, and of course I wouldn't be...

Do Bracers of Striking require an enhancement bonus?

Re: Re: Do Bracers of Striking require an enhancement bonus? I disagree. The items require craft arms and armor, and the text says you treat it as a blunt weapon for weapon enhancements, not to treat it as a magical blunt weapon.

Bonus spell slots from magic items: When do you lose them?

Re: Re: Bonus spell slots from magic items: When do you lose them? How is this the only way of treating them equally? If you play it where the caster knows which slots are extra then it's simple. The sorceror casts from those first, the mage can choose to cast from those first if they wish...

Bonus spell slots from magic items: When do you lose them?

So what a couple of you are saying is that if you get hit with an Int drain that costs you a bonus spell you'll lose a prepared spell slot regardless of what you've already cast? That just seems like an overly harsh method to me. Stat drain and damage is bad enough. Another tack: whether or...

Bonus spell slots from magic items: When do you lose them?

I've been looking at the whole bonus spell slot thing. If you are a mage wearing a Headband of Intellect that gives you a bonus 3rd level spell, do you know what slot is the bonus one? Let's say you prep a fireball in that slot, then cast it, then remove the headband. Do you lose another of...

The Adventures of the Knights of Spellforge Keep- UPDATED 6/6

You read Sep's Story Hour...remember the chaos sword? The one that singlehandedly brought down the walls of Morne? I agree, it's a very cool power.

The Adventures of the Knights of Spellforge Keep- UPDATED 6/6

Sigh....Why does Doc do this to himself? Passwall at will...now where have we seen THAT before, eh Wee Jas? Hmm? :p BTW, shouldn't that Disintegrate be a Fort save? And to all you people who are saying that the Hound's +11 ECL is too high...not when those powers are in a player's hands. +9...

Saving Throws 101 : Refrench My Memory Please

Only if the Skipster is your DM ;) Or if he's the de facto DM for an international campaign that forces all of the poor, cringing players to take everything he says as gospel. And so of course SOME of those players have rolled more 1's in that campaign than they have in their last 10 years of...

    Divine Grace-like abilities

I've never seen anything like what you want. Even if it does exist, I would hope that it's only for Str or Int, otherwise you get double stacking from the others that already add to your saves. Actually, I doubt I'd ever see a Str based power since Str seems to be an extremely overvalued stat...

    Immune to Flanking?

I made the same mistake. It doesn't state it in the actual elemental descriptions, but check out the Creature Overview section under Elemental type (edit: also from SRD): It's also like that in the MM1.

    Can incorporeal creatures be disintegrated?

Hey D&D scientists, Does the incorporeal description say that it's immune to disintegrate? Does disintegrate state that it cannot affect incorporeal creatures (a large subset of creatures)? No? That's strange, cause polymorph does. So there you go. D&D is fairly specific about immunities...

    Immune to Flanking?

Any creature with the elemental type is immune to flanking. I found that out when I REALLY didn't need to. That +2 can make a huge difference when the chips are down.

best way for melee to fight devils/demons

[b] Well, looks like he pulled the machina on you...Contingiency can only be used on a spell that targets the user. IOW, he can't use it for offensive spells. I guess this was either a special, modified version or an honest mistake. Ah well, glad you had fun and you put up a good fight...
