Did Pa petrelli say "Now I will HAVE all your powers", or something more like "Now I will TAKE all your powers"? I wasn't paying much attention at that point, and I haven't gone back to re-watch. The whole thing could be explained to an extent. He already had Time Control and Teleportation...

Real answer? He has the Power of Plot, and so they put him where he needed to be in order to set up the cliffhanger. We will likely never, ever see any explanation as to how he knew what was going on or how he got there. I accept Villain Omniscience as a trope of the show, and have moved on...

You could look at this issue a different way, which does a better job of explaining the design philosophy behind 4E, as I understand it. Take a Fighter, with an 18 strength, proficient in a longsword, and put him up against a Wizard, with an 18 intelligence, using an Implement he's proficient...

It occurs to me that this is the second "gimmick" they've used this season to get Maclolm McDowell back as Linderman; first Nathan's "Visions", now this flashback. Not that I'm complaining...Malcolm McDowell is awesome. Just an observation.

He was named Lord Shojo, I think? I see a great set-up for Belkar's ultimate redemption, and a chance for some genuine character development. Which Belkar will summarily reject, and just go ahead and kill the thieves. Probably with his metaphorical green stick.

Parkman also does pretty well with a lower special-effects budget. Flight, TK, time-stop, ice-touch, and super-speed? Probably not so much. I was going to say that Elle might be on her way out, too, but they've been doing lightning effects for almost as long as they've put special effects...

That's a very good point. They've established that is is possible for Sylar to suppress the Hunger part of his powers. Maybe Pa Petrelli's power worked the same way, and he's had years to learn how to control it? So, he gets The Hunger from Pete, says "Oh, this old thing?" and just moves on...

I am absolutely, completely buying Zach Quinto as a young Spock. I like the other casting, but Spock is dead-on. The bridge looks as if it was the TOS bridge, redesigned by Steve Jobs. I'd be shocked if you can't find an apple logo on it, somehwere, if you look hard enough...
