Refresh my memory (I haven't read the book OR seen the movie in a long, long time)...how were the endings different?

I liked the ending to The Shawshank Redemption. The entire movie is abuse after abuse after abuse piled on the poor, hapless protagonist, but everyone gets exactly what they deserve, in the end, good and bad.

To me, "Gish" is the sound a goblin makes when stepped on by an ogre. And I've been playing since 1e, and used Githyanki fighter/mages. I just don't like the term. It doesn't sound like a dangerous soldier who has mastered the martial and arcane arts. It sounds like an industrial accident...

Still, it's not the blockbuster that they were hoping for, given the amount of advertising and merchandizing tie-ins they have been putting out for this movie. Which is too bad, because I would really like to see the full trilogy, someday...
