D&D 5E (2014) Extending the 'cast it one year in succession and said effect is permanent until dispelled' Mechanic

Quick run through the PHB makes me think you should just exclude cantrips altogether. Prestidigitation, shillelagh, mage hand are weird and probably overpowered. Plus there is no actual cost to casting a cantrip every day. If you exclude cantrips, spells with targets, and spells with range of...

D&D 5E (2014) Extending the 'cast it one year in succession and said effect is permanent until dispelled' Mechanic

Permanent foresight eh? Guess pretty much every lich would have that up. I think a lot of spells (stoneskin, mindblank, eyebite, mage's sword, flaming sphere, spiritual weapon., blade ward, haste...) would be overpowered. But it would be neat for some others. Mostly spells that create a...

WotC Hasbro Reports First Quarter Earnings

Sure sure but: (a) I think in-store sales at Target and Walmart have got to be pretty suppressed right now and (b) People buy dnd at Walmart too... But OK yes I would buy dnd monopoly.

    D&D 5E (2014) Rogue / Echo Knight

So I'm going to say, it seems like BS to be hidden and because of that get advantage when attacking via your plainly visible echo. It seems legal per the rules, but I doubt I'd allow it.

    D&D 5E (2014) Hex Shenanigans

So the question now just boils down to, can you cast hex on a chicken? The thought being that you do that first thing in the morning so that if you get to rest before actually fighting, you get an extra spell for the day. I mean, to me that seems like a pretty classic bag-of-rats technique...

D&D 5E (2014) Homebrew Rules for Interesting Temporal Combat

Not for me I'm afraid. But I thought I'd point to the phane, a 3.5e epic critter that used temporal abilities https://www.d20srd.org/srd/epic/monsters/abomination.htm#phaethon

    D&D 5E (2014) Hex Shenanigans

To be fair, there is a debatable question of whether you can benefit from a short rest while concentrating. The short rest rules require you to do "nothing more strenuous than eating, drinking, reading, and tending to wounds." The rules don't say whether concentrating is more strenuous than...

D&D 5E (2014) Can someone hide from multiple enemies?

To be fair, not much is definite when it comes to stealth and hiding. I think some people would play that if you know where a creature is, then by definition it is not hidden from you. I think most people agree that being hidden and being unseen are two different things. The halfling ability...

    D&D 5E (2014) Spell access via...tools?

I agree it really depends on the spells. Would it be a problem for a warlock to spam every hour? Would it be too big a combat boost for a class like EK? I don’t think it would be likely to be a problem, but it could be.

D&D 5E (2014) How to kill a devil that’s immune to fire. Flaming hot rock.

Many creatures are immune/resistant to bludgeoning damage from attacks. You'd have to decide if erupting earth counts as an attack for that purpose; I'd probably say no.

D&D 5E (2014) Can someone hide from multiple enemies?

I play that even if you point out a hidden creature, your allies still have to make their check to actually spot it. You can use your action to help and grant them advantage if you want. If you do I let that apply to their passive perception as a +5 bonus.

D&D 5E (2014) Wish and the requirement removal

OK so to be clear: your reading of the RAW is that you simply can't cast a spell if there isn't a valid target. So then you could use attempting to cast as a free invisible creature finder, as I suggested earlier? But I understand that you don't think that is intended or a good way to play.

D&D 5E (2014) Wish and the requirement removal

I still don't really understand your position here. Say I try to cast firebolt at a space where I think there might be an invisible creature. What are you saying happens differently depending on whether a creature is actually there or not?
