I believe the old West End Games' Star Wars RPG modules used to use cut-scenes. I always thought they added a nice cinema-like effect. I guess it really depends on whether your players are adept at non-metagaming or not.

I always liked the idea of a reverse dungeon with a twist: allow the player's to roll up moster PC's, but then when they show up to play, hand them your pregenerated bad guys and you get to use their Min/Maxed monsters!

I can't comment on Cry Havoc as I do not currently own that book, but Fields of Blood was a worthy purchase. I think there needs to be a few tweaks to the system, but ultimately it seems to be a good system for handling realm management. I believe Silveras is the resident expert on this...

There a ton of reasons, but for me personally it is a creative and social outlet. I've made some good friends, expanded my knowledge of myself and the world, and have a lot of great memories of playing D&D. I guess I want to keep doing those things that a computer game really can't. mac1504
