What's the issue in MB with custom monsters and hit points?

That's been the million dollar question around my house lately. I think my wife believes it's going to be donated to the local game store... but I don't know if I'm ready to part with it. One of my players suggested I repaint it, and perhaps make it into a desert arena for Dark Sun.
