    MMO grinding and D&D Insider

Well, I know that when I thought I had lost my RPGA card I was offered a new number when I participated in an online Living Greyhawk game. It just requires that the GM have ordered cards for his online event and be willing to mail you the physical card.

    AoE and Concealment

I haven't looked at the Scorching Burst power recently, but I don't think you can choose /not/ to target any of them, or your buddy the Fighter standing between them keeping them from getting to you. That pretty strongly implies to me that concealment shouldn't apply to their defenses. If...

    MM excerpt: phane

That's an awesome idea. If/when I ever run a game to epic levels, I'm definately using that. :-)

D&D 4E Is the OGL the reason for WOTC's secrecy about 4E?

Shoot, for some comedies, the trailers have every joke in the movie. Which always annoys me. Why'd I just waste 2 hours of my life again?

New Monster Stats (Dungeons of Dread)

Assuming that the listing it right, there's no action needed to sustain the Divine Beacon...but it does look like Divine Retribution is an attack. So, I can easily see this thing alternating between Divine Beacon and Divine Retribution. Makes it hard to take down. Though it'll have a harder...

    Non-Newtonian movement...

Yes, but you no longer need to a) move in a straight line(the biggie) and b) take it all at once. With needing to run in a straight line, how often have you ever used it in a game?

    Updated Desert of Desolation Stats

Wizards just recently re-issued the updated stat cards, with changes from the playtesting they got from first time around.

    Behold the Mighty Frost Giant!

They did say that the "average" pc should be hitting ~55% of the time with their attacks. So, if an average PC has +11 attack bonus(+5 from level, +4 from stat, +2 from a magic item), then the 'average' defense of the giant should be roughly 21 or so, give or take. Then up the AC defense by...

Why is the Grell an elite, not a solo monster?

Nah, whether or not you have treasure is what's immaterial. It's whether or not the Adventurers think you have treasure that matters. :)

    D&DExp Character Sheets!

Another alternative theory - warlocks can do any arcane ritual, but needs a feat to do be able to do them. Wizards get that feat for free(like rogues get the Trapfinding feat for free).

D&D 4E SRM Marking Marked and Other 4Eisms

You mean two of your companions with probably lower defenses and HPs? The whole point of the power, after all, is to encourage the creature to attack you instead of someone else. If they can take out the cleric(because your using them to block for you) or the ranger(whose probably doing way...

    Constant Powers?

How I always thought it was going to be divided was powers define the things you do, while feats provide modifiers to what you do. If that's the case, then your constant "powers" will probably fall under feats more than powers. But, that's wild speculation(which makes it fit right in on this...

    D&D 4E Non-Euclidean Geometry in 4E?

If this hasn't been answered yet, DDM had several examples of spell areas that had square bursts and the like. Shoe has pretty much confirmed that this is in the 4e, so it's probably a safe assumption that they aren't using 2 different methods of measuring distances(I hated that reach was the...

We Used the new death and dying rules and it saved our ninja

Our group implemented a house rule that you died at -Con and to stabalize you had to roll a fort save at DC 18. Gives the same chance at first level for the wizard to stabalize, and gives the fighter-types a much better chance to not bleed out. Worked for us. I just recently switched my group...

D&D 4E New Podcast: New DDM rules and their 4E origins

While I agree with your point, moving diagonally through difficult terrain is actually really easy: each diagonal square costs 3. ;) Difficult terrain doesn't add 1 square of movement, but doubles it.

D&D 4E 4E Dragonborn: What Do We Know About Them?

Considering one of things mentioned was to make dwarves a good choice for cleric(stat-wise), dwarves are probably con/wis. I think all the elvish races are dex + X, making eladrin dex + int. Halflings are probably dex as well, paired with maybe charisma(since they're merchantish types). I...

Paladin should kill the Warlord and take his stuff!

There's also supposedly a Paragon path that works best for either a cleric or a paladin entry.

    D&D 4E 4E Roles

To continue the point, you always had to have someone who could go toe-to-toe with the monsters in melee combat in any edition. And the core of the defender role is to be able to do that, and secondarily make the monster not want to go hit the squishy guys(just about anyone else).

D&D 4E 4e Rulebook for DDM is up!

My problem was never counting 1,2,1,2. But rather 1,1,1,2,1,1 ... uh...how many diagonals have I gone again? Counting out 80 or 100' of movement with trying to avoid AoO, terrain and still get where your trying to go, and keeping track of if the last diagonal I did was at 5 or 10' of movement...

D&D 4E 4e Rulebook for DDM is up!

Bursts are now targeting squares, instead of corners of squares. Which tends to make for square fireballs, but will be /much/ easier to figure out if somethings in or not.
