    Ease the vernacular.

We could get rid of action types by using Action Points (like those in Fallout computer game or its' p'n'p variant).

Death & Dying - a better (and simple!) system.

What if we shuffled healing to minor actions, as it is in 4e? Would it solve the problem a bit?

Time to bring back the prose?

Nitpick: those are 4 options. As for me, I'd like flowery prose, AD&D style not Gygax style, for fluff and rules close to 4e, but easier to find. EDIT: However, Minigiant's idea (with bolding) is brilliant, and I wish I could xp him.

    Alignment restrictions?

I agree completely. This way alignment could be placed conveniently in a module and everyone could have their choice.

    Write this game for adults

True, and there is no reason to shy away from such topics or to present them in immature ways (chainmail bikini is an example). I'd prefer it if D&D Next was similar in style to OD&D or AD&D - that is, fluff and rules both, without unnecessary redundancy or "using short words and short...

    Themes and Feats

I want themes to support each of the pillars equally. So, one feat per pillar. And if themes should improve, they should improve upon advancing a tier, not in some different way.

    So...where does retraining fit in?

Retraining doesn't work this way. And about D&D Next - I'd be happy to see optional retraining of feats/skills/themes as an optional module.

Rule of the Three (1st of May)

I think we know too little about themes to say anything now. I guess themes will be better in use than individual feats were in 3e/4e, due to their grouping and (I hope) clear naming.

Action resolution (as per April 24 Rule of Three)

What is RAP? As for the player who says 'I roll Diplomacy' - just force him to role-play instead of rolling. Ban on rolling social skills...

My own RPG [WIP] - input needed

I know, that's why I wanted to give both warrior types and wizard types same mechanics. Later, I decided I wanted to do a low-magic world, so those cinematic effects require deity favor points. Also, I intend to separate class and attack (i.e. combat) effectiveness, just making Melee Attack and...

    RPG Desktop Backgrounds?

My wallpaper shows Viconia DeVir from Baldur's Gate. I don't remember where I found it. I only tweaked it to be grayscale...

My own RPG [WIP] - input needed

Decided on using d6s, but without changing the scale. After all, ease is the prime goal of this ruleset.... Renamed "advantages" to "developments" and started pruning them a bit. Thinking on a new skill list.

Is this about D&D Next or some other system?

    Love this LP so far!

What does a character look like from what we know so far?

@ up: Maybe the idea that the skills contribute to attributes? (btw where was it mentioned?) To me, the stats looks nice, not-overly-long. Just the thing I'd aim for in D&D Next.

    Non-Weapon Proficiencies

Maybe it would be good if we combined some of the NWP's that got culled with 3e/4e (latter feats notwithstanding) into more skills and used a tiered skill system...

    Feats That Shouldn’t Be Feats

My list of 'feats which shouldn't be feats': - any of the +x feats - precise shot - track Possibly: - weapon finesse Work with little changes: - power attack - combat expertise

My own RPG [WIP] - input needed

I'm thinking of using several d6s and keeping the numbers and adding a bonus from the 1-100 scale. Also, I want to detach combat skills from classes/number of "advantages" and I want to reduce "advantages", especially those that only give +x bonus. In the future, I might consider removing...

    D&D 5E (2014) Structuring 5E: Bring back Basic & Advanced?

I see "Basic & Advanced" happening in D&D Next... the core is Basic and the additional modules are Advanced. It's just a matter of names.
