This thread is totally cool. My players have a TARDIS, so I plan on sending them to a Tripod-dominated alternate timeline in the second season of our campaign. And this info is perfect! Thanks!
More source material for a world taken over by the Martians, if no one has mentioned it: The White...
Umm...hmm.
And how do the sessions go? Do you e-mail them to let them know what their characters did and how it all turned out?
I'm pretty familiar with the FR, and I don't see any reason why an elf shouldn't know how to find Evereska. Wouldn't they have all kinds of time to learn little...
Thanks tjoneslo...that explains a lot!
Good to know they won't actually get liquefied...but better to know that they're still truly terrified of what might happen when the C-4 explodes. :)
True...nothing those Demolitions guys do will damage the hull.
But since energy and shock waves are transferred to the internal dimension (where the people are), it's possible that an explosion could fail to even scratch the outer hull while liquefying the people inside.
Edit: Yeah, DMScott, I...
My players, please don't read this.
Okay, here's the deal:
My players' TARDIS has broken down, leaving them in a hostile situation, surrounded by enemy troops. The troops are aware of the (camouflaged) TARDIS, and are planting explosives (six lbs. of C-4) to try to blow open the door...
What, no mention of your old buddy Tom Cashel?? ;)
C'mon PA gamers--Cinerarium (aka Steve) is a great guy, a superlative DM, and in need of a game.
Help him out, and you're helping you, too.
Every story about time travel makes up its own rules. You should decide on yours before the campaign starts. The players will come up with all sorts of head-scratchers if there aren't any ground-rules.
I'm currently running a D20 Modern campaign, Wings of Icarus, in which the PCs acquired a...
I am running an extra-special bonus session of our current D20 Modern campaign, "Wings of Icarus," on Saturday. One of my oldest and dearest friends, with whom I've been gaming for about 17 years, is visiting from Colorado this weekend.
The scenario is a modern-day "sequel" to our Beyond the...
Not from a Story Hour, but from glEN World, here's how I summarized a recent battle in d20 Modern. It won't win any awards, but it may give you some ideas.
All you need to know is that lightsabres aren't as clumsy or random as blasters. They're elegant weapons of a more civilized age. I mean, doesn't that explain it all? :)
I'll second the mood thing. Use your voice to set it as well...speak softly when everything is quiet, and make sure to bang your hand on the table when a window gets busted or whatnot. Spook 'em out, make 'em jump.
For your g/f, how about the new Storytelling system from White Wolf? With terms like "theme," "mood," "scene," and "story," it's the kind of thing a writer would enjoy. Plus, the dots=dice pool thing is an easy mechanic to grasp.
Not really. A lot of the historical reasons for Germany's militarization and subsequent invasions were based on the crushing depression suffered by that country during the Twenties. They were trying to pay war reparations and get their shattered economy running at the same time, and it just...

Too funny.
"You don't want to kill us. But you will, if we let you. So I'm not going to let you." One of my players in college said that to me when he was very, very drunk. He doesn't remember it, but I've never forgotten it.
Don't go out of your way to kill them, but don't shirk...
I'm a sucker for Nazi villains and time travel. Can't help it. Somewhere along the way it got hardwired (probably from reading Bradbury's "A Sound of Thunder" at a very young age).
I am very excited!
