Virtual D&D and the Hearing Impaired.

If I may answer these questions from my own experience... The problem isn't quite the same in a face-to-face game. In a face-to-face game, sound is much more clear than through computer speakers, and there are visual aids and reading lips. A hearing impaired person has difficulty understanding...

From the ashes will rise a new Hivemind.

 Travelled hundreds of lands, slayed hundreds of beasts and demons, power beyond all dreams... only to be killed in the first encounter. I am, unfortunately, too fair a GM to do that. But I'm sure I'll consider it many times...

Virtual D&D and the Hearing Impaired.

If you point the camera at you when you talk, she might be able to read your lips. But, this may not be a good option for you. No one there knows how to sign? The only other thing I can think of is PbP gaming or Google Wave gaming.

Keeping track of combat length (for posterity)

Oh, I'm not questioning a controller's or a wizard's ability to deal a lot of damage to a number of creatures, but there's something to be said about a striker's ability to take down the number of creatures quickly, thus preventing them from dealing damage to the party. That's a significant...

From the ashes will rise a new Hivemind.

Boring isn't bad, though. I prefer a player to have a PC with a boring backstory than an uber-cool-I'm-the-most-BA-thing-ever-and-I'll-tell-you-about-it-for-three-hours backstory.

Don't worry about non-standard numbers. It all averages out. :D

Boring is the spice of life.

I was hoping (over time) to collect enough data points from multiple sources to find a trend.

    You are not the Director

Producers put up the most money, right? ;)

I would be totally okay with that!

That's my inclination as well. I have enough stuff going on during the game... Well, but I want to know how many rounds each additional striker will affect the total number of rounds by. The direction of the change is easy to glean, I think. You think surges, dailies, and APs are the same? I...

From the ashes will rise a new Hivemind.

I ran a game on Saturday and on Monday. I think the label "geek" means little around here. ;) Also, I'm not a big fan of Glee. Decent singing, but can't stand the show.

    Percy Jackson Novels...any good?

I have the same problem with Harry Potter and the Dresden Files. I think they're both quite poorly written, though I'm told Harry Potter gets better. I don't claim that Percy Jackson is literature--I tend to read more literary things, anyways--but it's a fun story when you get into it. And...

From the ashes will rise a new Hivemind.

Heh. I want players to create a normal backstory for their characters.

Maybe damage/round can be assumed to be (total monster hp) / (# rounds) ? I'm just curious as to the effect of a striker (or, for each added striker) on damage/round, total rounds, and resources used (dailies used, APs used, surges used, etc). (And, I can imagine that it took 40 minutes to...

I feel bad for the wall I was hitting with my head.

From the ashes will rise a new Hivemind.

For one of their many PCs or for their home campaign? And, you don't want to hear about how cool their powers interact with each other? In the middle of the actual game? Or, while you're trying to leave?

From the ashes will rise a new Hivemind.

Having come from GMing a game with two very annoying players, sometimes I just want my players to have a normal backstory.

 I was wondering how many healing surges are used each encounter and how much damage is done per round.
