If all you care about is flavor, I assume the Dragonlance hardcover has a more playable minotaur (though obviously it'll be somewhat weaker).

What this guy said. A 2nd level spell that has had metamagic applied to it is still a second level spell. It's save DC is based on it being 2nd level. Whether it gets through a Globe of Invulnerability is based on it being 2nd level. The amount of Spell Turning it eats up is based on it...

Except I wasn't a fan of the fluff. Don't get me wrong, a lot of it was high quality fluff, but fluff by its very nature is subjective. I'll take solid rules any day of the week over fluff. I can put my own flavor on top.

There are two spells in the BoED that it works with. Luminous Armor and Greater Luminous Armor. Both very good spells if you don't mind taking some strength damage when you cast them and glowing like a christmas tree.
