Question about Abjurant Champion & Divine Companion

Frankly, since it is limited to only Shield and Armor bonuses, I don't think for balance reasons there is any problem with allowing it to work on any spell that grants Shield and Armor bonuses.

Damage sources for a melee cleric who isn't buffing a lot

First sentence in Knowledge Devotion: "You can use your knowledge to exploit your foes' weaknesses and overcome their strengths." That sounds similar enough to "learning[ing] its special powers or vulnerabilities" for my purposes.

Damage sources for a melee cleric who isn't buffing a lot

Right, but I'd never be able to improve any other than Religion (undead) and the Planes (outsiders). I suppose the bonus would be impressive already between Collector of Stories, good wisdom (looking like +6 right now), and either Lore of the Gods (+10) or Divine Insight (+14, but discharges)...

Damage sources for a melee cleric who isn't buffing a lot

Good call on Holy Warrior, but I don't think I'll get any use out of Divine Power, given that my Cha is likely to be 6 or 8. (yay dwarf!) One problem I've noticed: I have to burn a feat on Knowledge Devotion, I can't ditch the domain, because I still need it for all knowledge skills as class...

Damage sources for a melee cleric who isn't buffing a lot

Only concern there is the XP penalty for multiclassing. I'd either have to make it a straight cleric and ditch the +6 invocation, or non-dwarf and ditch ancestral knowledge (which might be a similar bonus). I'd be inclined to ditch the DFA, seeing as I'd be saving myself a caster level that way.

Damage sources for a melee cleric who isn't buffing a lot

Oh I like Divine Insight. Not sure how I missed that one before. An all day duration to boot! I suspect my entire 2nd level spell load every day would be like 3 Lore of the Gods and 3 Divine Insights if I play this character.

Damage sources for a melee cleric who isn't buffing a lot

Ok, so here is the deal: I want to make a capable melee cleric, probably a human. I do not want to use DMM cheese. What sources of damage should I be looking for? Right now I'm leaning towards Knowledge Devotion + Knowledge Domain + Collector of Stories + Lore of the Gods + 1 point in almost...

Question about Abjurant Champion & Divine Companion

Also, it is neither an Armor nor Shield bonus, so even if your DM allows the extending, it won't get an AC boost from Abjurant Armor. (Speaking of which, are the only spells it does apply to Shield and the Luminous Armor spells?)

Dragon Disciple: good for a Duskblade?

Let's take a different approach for this thread: What is the best use for a Dragon Disciple, assuming 10 levels in DD? What is the best dragon disciple we can make?

Dragon Disciple: good for a Duskblade?

This is a little unfair, since there is no where else on EN World to discuss 3.5 PrCs.

    D&D 3.x First time Druid help (3.5e)

Monk's Belt: Stream, you are welcome to do whatever you want in your game. I'm never one to judge decisions that are made for flavor/feel reasons. I do agree that if the current belt did NOT give wis to AC, it would be overpriced to the point of uselessness for non-monks. (Considering for...

    D&D 3.x First time Druid help (3.5e)

"If the character is not a monk, she gains the AC and unarmed damage of a 5th-level monk. This AC bonus functions just like the monk’s AC bonus." "AC Bonus (Ex): When unarmored and unencumbered, the monk adds her Wisdom bonus (if any) to her AC. In addition, a monk gains a +1 bonus to AC at 5th...

Forked: Some rules clarification for my 3rd ed Warlock

The warlock entry is a mess, generally speaking. For instance, the fact that all invocations (including EB) have somatic components is explained under armor proficiencies.

    Warlock Damage

What kind of damage are the following? Disintegrate Phantasmal Killer (Failed Wis, made Fort) Slay Living (made save) Unholy Blight There are LOTS of things, particularly lots of MAGICAL things that do damage without it having a [descriptor] or a "type".

Dragon Disciple: good for a Duskblade?

Oh be nice. The guy wants to talk about Dragon Disciples, let's talk about Dragon Disciples. Easier to use an existing thread than start a new one.

Forked: Some rules clarification for my 3rd ed Warlock

I constantly feel like WotC devs massively over anticipated the power some categories, primarily spontaneous casters and anything that could be used "at will." Edit to add: Particularly bothersome is that Dimension Door, one of the best "get out of grapple" spells in a core game is verbal...

    D&D 3.x First time Druid help (3.5e)

Spontaneous Healer is from Complete Divine. Basically lets you pretend you're a cleric for Wis-mod times per day and turn spells into Cure spells. However if you're dead set on Companion Spellbound and being an Elf, you probably won't have space for it (as things like Augment Summoning or...

    D&D 3.x First time Druid help (3.5e)

Armor: Get Wild armor. Slightly more expensive, but it loses all the penalties when you change form, but explicitly only retains the armor bonus. This means no need for silly proficiencies, you don't have to worry about max dex bonus or reduced speed, AND it doesn't waste one of your...
