So you're saying that a 10k staff ability and a 10k weapon ability would be either 20k or 25k (assuming you consider "weapon in hand" a slot)? I'd rather just have two separate staffs and an efficient quiver at that point.

I don't like it at all, just from a concept standpoint. At least the Orbs (and their psionic kid-sister, crystal shard) require an attack roll, thus making them victim to blur, displacement, etc.

Note that the clerics need not be granted the spells by the devil him/herself. They may in fact simply be worshippers of a concept or force which has similar goals to the devil, or perhaps one that has been twisted over time. Perhaps there is a cult of clerics who worshipped Destruction...
