    Immobilising flying creatures

More like 9d10 to 5d10 damage depending on the speed of the flier. Also, do it to the players, they want to play with fire then let them get burned a couple times.

    My 3 quibbles with 4e

Man, I have not had a combat yet where I have not managed to knock at least one PC into the negatives. My PCs are uncanny at making death saving throws though, it's crazy, one of them made five in a row in a fight before someone wandered over and rolled a natural twenty on the untrained heal...

D&D 4E How long are your 4e combats taking, real time?

When DMing with Maptools, I stick the monster stats in the GM note of the creature, along with any extra info I might need (ie definition of Weakened or something). It makes checking their stuff, doing damage and everything really easy.

She definitely had bat wings in her first appearance.

    Power Paralysis in 4e

Are they having fun? I mean, it's entirely possible that they don't have any problem with the speed of combat and it's just you being bored.

    Ongoing damage and saves

If they're separate then you would get separate saving throws for each one at the end of your turn irrc

    What Alignment is Rorschach?

We were edging closer to nuclear war when Watchmen was written and we'd been right up to the edge before. I mean looking at the Cuban Missile Crisis it's pretty amazing that nuclear apocalypse didn't happen.

    What Alignment is Rorschach?

Yes but the whole fact that he has a secret identity would seem to undermine the idea that he was totally unwilling to lie. And he lies to the psychologist as well, and I imagine there are other cases.

    What Alignment is Rorschach?

Ah, but it "die rather" or "die and" After all, he could have lied there in the room, could have said okay and waited till he got back before he said anything. But he didn't. Why was Rorshach crying? Maybe it was for the millions who died, or maybe it was because he found himself torn in...

    What Alignment is Rorschach?

What if they apocalypse has a 99% chance? 98% At some point it's acceptable and at some point it's not, given that Ozymandius was the smartest man in the world, who better to evaluate the chances?

    Is this puzzle solvable?

Assuming the rogue has taken twenty on thievery looking for traps and the wizard has taken twenty on arcana looking out for magic. I'd start pushing the gems. Pattern of 12113, 21131, 11312, 13121, 31211. First all five on each individual gem. Then start going around.

Watchmen have brought *real* role-playing to D&D

Wargaming was the basic foundation of the game. Wargaming is not exactly known for it's deep plots and complex characterization.

Watchmen have brought *real* role-playing to D&D

Does this serve any purpose besides goading? Uh, no. The Iliad and the Odyssey are not comics. And it's certainly debatable whether they're better. I don't think it had any sort of widespread impact on gaming. I don't think this comic was necessary to make gamers play sophisticated games...

    Alignment changes

What they do has consequences because everything has consequences. It's simply that the laws of the universe don't punish people anymore. People should react to them based on how the NPCs would feel about. Some would be horrified, some would cheer them on.

    What Alignment is Rorschach?

I don't think classifying alignment should ever come down to how one interacts with the government or laws of the land, that seems to imply that one's alignment can change with a change of address.

Forked Thread: Why Ravenloft and 4E May Not Mesh

I'm really not seeing the conflict here. I mean, you show that Ravenloft will need some adjusting of rules to make it a unique setting and I don't see where that causes problems or is unusual in any way.

Watchmen have brought *real* role-playing to D&D

It's the best comic book ever written. Normally a statement like that would be setting expectations too high, but probably not in this case.
