    How to fix Dragon

I have one idea for both Dragon and Dungeon. Completely change the format! I'm talking about ePub, MOBI, or something that will display properly on modern electronic e-readers, tablets, or iPad-like devices. PDFs are great for printing, but lack as far as the intended purpose--to read them on...

Plea for help...reading my Dragon, Dungeon mags

Didn't work out with the Nook. Turns out it does not have pan & zoom after-all (evidently the Kindle does though). Anyway, thanks again for the tips. I have ideas to research now. Thanks :)

Plea for help...reading my Dragon, Dungeon mags

Thanks for the tips! I checked about zoom capabilites on my Nook and it turns out that the 1.4 update has added panning and zooming for pdfs (I didn't know that). I'm not sure how that will work on a 6 inch screen, but I'm about to go try it. Hum, the iPad. It has pinch and zoom, that might...

Plea for help...reading my Dragon, Dungeon mags

I want to read my magazines (pdfs). Let me tell you what I have tried... My largest reading device is my PC (20 inch LCD). The text is large enough to read, but after several pages, the it becomes uncomfortable reading at the computer. I'm not sure if it is the eye strain, ergonomics, cheap...

Doing the Monster Math for the original MM

This is a terrific thread! Very helpful for someone like me that has been searching for answers on this. Unfortunately, I've got to add a stupid question: What are NADs? (what does it stand for) Thanks. :)

Is there a helpful guide for re-speccing monsters in-line with MM3 etc?

OK, I gather from the previous posts that updating a monster should be done in order: 1. Look up the monster in the Compendium. That entry should include the old values plus any specific errata that has been applied to that specific monster. 2. IF monster = MM1 monster, then apply MM2 math...

Is there a helpful guide for re-speccing monsters in-line with MM3 etc?

Seconded! I find the new math difficult to get right for the same reason as the OP. An abbreviated "How to Update Your Monsters For Dummies" would be perfect.

Help me sort damage for Monsters in line with MM3

Hmmm...what? I'm confused. The damage for monsters in P1 are incorrect? I searched around for errata for P1 and didn't find it. I would think this info would be in the errata already. If I do find it I'll point you to it. Does this rule change in MM3 impact all of the adventures released...

Digest-sized Essentials books...translates better to ebooks?

*I have a thread on this in the 4e forum (which I thought I aborted). Sorry about that. Admins, please remove this post if you see fit* After learning the new digest-sized books in the upcoming Essentials line are basically formatted as one column/large text, I can't help but speculate that...

    Digest sized books...connect the dots...ebooks?

After learning the new digest-sized books in the upcoming Essentials line are basically formatted as one column/large text, I'm thinking just maybe WotC had ebooks in mind while designing Essentials. I've heard news about pdfs/ebooks would be 'coming soon'. Your thoughts? Do you think I'm...

New D&D novel: Mark of Nerath

Gosh, I'm behind on my D&D novels. I'm about halfway through Sojourn :p I'm still planning to buy the e-book version of Mark of Nerath for my Nook.

    Monster Manual 3 New Math?

Thank you! Nice to know I don't need to worry about changing every monster and trap from my older books and adventures (except those specifically listed in the MM1 errata). 'Higher damage options' is a good way to put it. I like that word...options. Thanks again :)

    Monster Manual 3 New Math?

Hum...I'm trying to grasp the impact/scope of this errata. Does this change the damage of all monsters & traps in Monster Manual 1 & 2, plus all adventures and other books before July 2010? Is the online compendium updated to reflect changes to damage of older monsters? Thanks.

What to purchase for a 7 year old

I'd have to agree with Mercurius...seven seems a little too young in my view. My grandson is seven, and although he can't fully read yet, he enjoys computer games like Lego Batman and Power Rangers and does well with them. However, I don't think he is ready for an RPG yet. I've heard girls...

What articles do YOU want written for Dragon and Dungeon?

I have just one wish (for Dungeon): An adventure that features a hag (or hags) as the villian. There is something about hags that strikes me as cool.

    Quitting a Game...

Don't worry too much. Even the greatest heroes occasionally have to put the sword on the mantle to tend to other business at hand. One day, you'll again reach for your sword and jump back into the action. OK, sorry, that was cheesy B-) But anyway, keep your chin up.

A Leap over Boiling Lava onto a Flying Wyvern

I agree--great story. One time my friend jumped off his roof onto his trampoline, which launched him into tree limb, from which he fell on his dog. (true story). If he can do that and live, I don't see why a D&D hero can't leap on a wyvern. The difference is that when my friend fell on his...

It's Not the GM's Job to Make Sure People Have Fun

It's not a black or white thing. People play D&D to have fun-DM included. The DM's effort/role contributes the groups goal of having fun. If folks are not having fun it could be because of numerous reasons...too many to list here. This is sorta a meta-geek topic. Gamers talk about gamey...
