Forcing rules to accomodate character concepts

They're demigods, nyet? So it's perfectly reasonable to give them divine rank 0. This in turn grants: Immortality Max HP per Hit dice CHA to AC Dr 10/epic Fire resistance 5 Spell resistance 32 Immunity to mind-effecting effects, Energy Drain, Ability Drain, Ability Damage, petrification, ...

Creating a demi-human race and society

The race has inherent telekinetic powers, and has mage hand as a 1/two hours SLA (Unlimited might not be bad either. IIRC, the item only costs 700ish gp, and also gives you a ring slot to replace your neck slot.)

Creating a demi-human race and society

Prisms would be regarded very highly, and the source of much arcane experimentation. When you can see colors only half the time, and black and white the other half, something that turns "colorless" light into colors is fascinating. EDIT: Perhaps the prismatic sphere and color spray spells...

    Essential Healing

In the Vlad Taltos series magical healing is fairly common, but costs enough to put it out of the easy reach of the lower classes. Plagues are very rare except among the extremely poor. It is possible to bring the dead back to life, but more expensive.

Forcing rules to accomodate character concepts

The main thing is that at high power levels the entire d20 system starts breaking down. (To be fair, IMO the last few novels started to do that too with their power-sprinting). Epic rules don't fix this at all.

That old flash lingo. Thieves' Cant revisited.

Villon’s Straight Tip To All Cross Coves Suppose you screeve, or go cheap-jack? Or fake the broads? or fig a nag? Or thimble-rig? or knap a yack? Or pitch a snide? or smash a rag? Suppose you duff? or nose and lag? Or get the straight, and land your pot? How do you melt the multy swag...

Real life beasts that need more attention

They need to have this ability Delicious Scent (ex) Binturongs smell like corn chips. Doritos in particular. No, really, they do. Players must make a fortitude save (DC 25) to avoid eating the olfactory aids that the GM has brought.

Wizard: Essential Class or Scared Cow

I'd say a minotaur wizard might be a little anxious. After all, that race/class combo doesn't work very well.

    Advice on tactics

As for equipment, I'd add flour, since there are so many uses. You can wet it to make a paste to stick stuff, use it to find invisible guys, make a cloud of it (which can explode), mark trails/paths (although chalk works just as well if you have it), improvise a trap to blind the next person...

    Deck of Many Things results

Three words: Weal or woe. That's right, with a simple second level spell, you can gain the benefits of the deck without any of the disadvantages. "Should I draw one card?" "OK, should I draw two cards" repeat until you get a mixed or woe result. If the spell fails you'll know it, since the...
