It's fairly obvious that tieflings and draenei have a lot more in common than simply a tail and personally I don't see anything badwrong about this. I like that the WoW devs were inspired by aspects of D&D; it means they're fans of the genere and they've done some cool stuff with the idea.

Tieflings have been around since Planescape (iirc) which was early-mid 90ies. There are remarkable similarities though, so maybe the idea pollination went the opposite way to what you are suggesting.

Much as though I'm liking what I see of 4E so far I'm less than impressed with tieflings, dragonborn and the lack of monks, druids, bards and gnomes. As long as their balanced I'd like to see them out asap.

Neither 1E or 2E was at all playable; too much arbitrary rubbish in both. If I *HAD* to go back to a 70ies or 80ies game system I'd probably go to Runequest and very heavily house rule it; I'd more likely make a system of my own cobbling together bits from Runequest, Rolemaster and D&D. Love...

Wow, that's pretty horrible. It's basically saying "the creative works of game writers are not worth protecting". I can see this going through a pretty extensive appeals process though.
