4E Retro Character Sheet Version 2 - 4E Retro Character Sheet Version 2

https://www.enworld.org/data/thumbs/1093-1.jpg I just made another 4e retro style character sheet. This one is all on one sheet. Enjoy! Got done with a form fillable version that calculates stats and bonuses, skills, bloodied, and HP per surge. I used Soutane and Soutane Bold for fonts if the...

AD&D 1E 1E & Basic: Balance repercussions of changing infravision to low light vision

In my experience it will not hurt. I change most monsters to low-light vision too. I also have a lot of dungeons where the moss glows with the passing of the sun. I call it glow moss. It creates a very low light condition.

    Will you mix playstyles?

I mix 4e and 1e or any edition I want to frequently. It is possible, it is fun. My players and I love the random magic item tables, random encounter tables, and random loot. I do not mind if they "have too much treasure", I can always find a way as a DM to whittle it down.

From 3.5 to 4e to PF, back to 4e and beyond

Our group really liked 4e when it first came out. We played for a solid year, then drifted into the OSR, which was quite fun (and very deadly!). Our group has come full circle again and it is at 4th edition, with most of the gamers re-subscribed to DDI, and the campaign is feeling really good...

Does anybody know how well D&D has been doing?

4th edition is doing fine. In the FLGS channel, pathfinder is beating it, but in online sales, they do about the same. The kicker is DDI, which out performs on a month to month basis all book sales by a very, very large margin. The christmas lay-offs are no big deal. They happen every year...

Role-roll, roll-role, just role, just roll, please read the poll.

If the player is a good role-player, I let role-playing dominate with him/her, with minimal roll ("Ok, You succeed on a roll of 2-6 on d6.") If the player is not a good role-player, I ask about their strategy of getting things done, then make a DC based off that so they may make a roll.

    Have I Been Bitten by a Were-Grognard?

    M/C BD&D > 1E > 2E > 3.5E > C&C > LL > C&C > 4E > C&C/LL > 4E > SWVOD&DIM > 4E Where you are a Were-grognard, I am schizophrenic-grognard. That brief iteration is the progression of versions I have DM'd since I started DM'ing in 1982. blah.

    Has WotC hit its stride?

Judging by their product line lately, the number of new/old core books being sold on Amazon alone, and the number of paying subscribers to DDI, I would sure say they are meeting their goals. I have bought Madness at Gardmore Abbey, Mordenkainen's Magnificent Emporium, and the Neverwinter...

How often do you tweak monsters?

I give elites two full turns in a round, at initiative and at initiative-10. Solos I give three turns per round. At Initiative, initiative-10, and initiative-20. I usually half their hit points. Solos and elites get a special "Shake it off" power at the start of their turn. Roll an...
