Character Sheet App for Android 3.0 Honeycomb - Input Wanted

Unlike Falcarrion, I don't want flash. At least, not too much flash. When I eventually get a honeycomb (or sequil) device, I want something nicer than an excel spreadsheet but nothing that will overload the meager resources of these portable devices. Heck, I find PDF reading to be laggy on my...

TV Series You're Surprised You Don't Watch

The newer episodes of House and NCIS, as they are on network TV and I forget to check it. Actually, I don't really go out of my way to catch that many TV shows, which is why I probably need a TiVo or something.

    Hasbro/WotC's movie problems

At least TF:2 proved why hollywood need writers...even bad writers. Thanks to a writer's strike, most of the "stupid human tricks" were ad-libbed. Still, though...Peter Cullen's serves as a switch for my brain - he turns it off at the prologue speech and turns it back on at the epilogue...

    Kulan Longbeard Hates Ponies

The Log Song seemed perfect for the situation.

    Kulan Longbeard Hates Ponies

Yes. Yes he does. EDIT: Pinky Pie needed to break out in song. And a delightfully inappropriate song it is...

    The Daeodon

I felt like the dwarves for my campaign setting needed something else besides ponies to ride (it's hard for a dwarf to maintain self respect when he's riding something with a cutie mark). Daeodon CR 2 XP 400 N Large animal Init +2; Senses low-light vision, scent; Perception +6 DEFENSE AC...

    Shield Walls and Crossbows

On a fun side note, Mike Loades showed on one of those history channel specials that the average schmuck could be trained to basic competency with a longbow in 5 days. Basic competency being able to shoot a knight and horse making a charge and hitting in a torso of one or the other. When...

Advice on how to change character

Monks, especially at higher levels, are great for frustrating a dungeon master. This is especially true if you play up the defensive strengths of the Monk with your build. Having all good saves, the ability to dodge spells and recieve no damage, slow fall, movement bonuses . . . keep with it...

    Alternative Race Choices

Well, between bestiary 1 & 2 there are quite a few choices listed beyond the core races. Aasimar, Changeling, Dhampir, Drow, Duergar, Fetchling, Gillman (Inner Sea Campaign Setting), Goblin, Gripphi, Hobgoblin, Ifrit, Kobold, Merfolk, Orc, Oread, Strix (ISCS), Svirfneblin, Slyph, Tengu...

A bit tired of people knocking videogames...

Not really, and I suspect I'm being flamebaited. But I'll give people the benefit of the doubt and say that I am not. Like I've said before, I'm just seeing how long this thread goes. Oryan77: Pretty much. Without identifying what the problem is, the problem could not then be fixed in later...

A bit tired of people knocking videogames...

I know what several definitions of the term means. This thread fullfilled it's role at least 10 pages back. Those definitions are not necessarally the same, though, for each person. For instance, pro-4e often associate the definition of the term as an excuse not to like 4e, rather than for a...

A bit tired of people knocking videogames...

Didn't we go over this? Several times? On another note, there's been at least 5 different variations in this thread on what "videogamey" means, by people who use it as a (positive or negative) descriptor.

A bit tired of people knocking videogames...

For a bit of the "shoe on the other foot," there were responses earlier in this thread that were rather odd replies. For example, when I used Legend of Zelda as an example of learning how to design good dungeons for traditional roleplaying, someone came back and pointed out other things of...

A bit tired of people knocking videogames...

True, but since there are kids in Fallout 3 & Fallout 3: New Vegas, it is plasuble that there will be kids in Elder Scroll V: Skyrim. And yes, a human GM is more flexible, and can act a lot quicker than altering a game through mods.

Sure it does. It's houseruling, only a bit more complicated.

What do you look for in a splat?

Well, eventually the volumes will be compiled into a sizable tome. For the first volume, it's like if someone made a campaign setting based off Rome, and had Roman controlled Egypt, Palistine, Gaul, British Isles, Carthage (which must be destroyed), Greece, along with Rome itself. I am also...

    April Fools gags

Blizzard has a lot of good ones this year. Crabby, the helper crab (based of Clippy from Win XP) is my favorite of the lot.

What do you look for in a splat?

So here is a breakdown of what I am thinking: Fluff: - The Irkuskan Empire (a dwarven empire) has a number of analogues with Rome and other historical empires. Most of the empire is above ground. - Threats to the Empire, both internal and external - The effects of the Empire on what it has...

What do you look for in a splat?

Well, I appreciate your reply. It is helpful, and I wish more people would opinionate on such things without the need for conflict-bait.
