    D&D General D&D: Literally Don't Understand This

These are depictions of Njinga Mbande the Warrior 'Queen' of Ndongo and Matamba who fought the Portuguese in the 17th century and is remembered as "Mother of Angola". Anyway I picked her specifically because the Gullah-Gechee people mentioned above by @Levistus's_Leviathan have been traced...

    D&D General D&D: Literally Don't Understand This

Theres a difference I think between pre-modern (ie before the 18th Century rather than actual Medieval) costume which DnD was based in and the current trend of 'anything goes' right up to contemporary (yet strangely 1980s leaning) styles. It probably started with the whole Steampunk aesthetic...

D&D 5E (2024) Opinions on the Topaz Dragon Reverse Wings?

Heh, yeah quite possibly - especially in those stories about the Last Dragon. But on Earth Enantiornithes were very successful thriving species when they existed, supposedly dominating the northern hemisphere. Unfortunately the same asteroid that killed the dinosaurs also caused the...

    Worlds of Design: Only Human

That 200 years of fertility is a major assumption though. On Earth we know a woman can stop being fertile (go through menopause) and live another good 50 or more years. So who is to say that elf's aren't even more restricted? A Dwarf who becomes an adult at 20 yrs might go through menopause at...

    Real Life Monsters

The Riptide Horror appearing in Tomb of Horrors was developed here on EN World and largely inspired by Giant Tubeworms, but they could serve to represent giant Hydrazoans too And talking of Cnidarians in a Sci-Fi campaign I had a Cnidarian species that was essentially an asteroid sized psychic...

D&D General Dragonborn In Your Game (A Poll)

My equivalent is a Guivren who are gracile reptilians standing around 7 ft tall (but 9 ft long nose to tail tip), they are facultative bipeds with digitigrade stance and a patagium extending from their extended fifth finger to hip. They are considered to be medium size and descend from an...

    Worlds of Design: Only Human

That made me think of the Birthright settings use of Source Holdings which take the form of ancient henges, primeval forests, faerie trods and other wild and unexplored a places, but which become weaker as nature is removed in favour of development. Humans civilisation tends to deplete Sources...

D&D 5E (2024) Opinions on the Topaz Dragon Reverse Wings?

the dragon has elbows and very flexible wrist joints, I'm also assuming the wing socket allows it to rotate - if the dragon was in a upright bipedal posture (like when flying maybe) it would just be a normal 'extra' set of arms with claws rotated so they orientate inwards.
