    Pan's Labyrinth

Wait...we have a media forum now? Like Merk said, I felt a little let down by the amount of screen time the "Here and now" portion of the movie got. I feel a little misled by the previews I saw, which focused on all the nifty wierdness and not the war setting. It's basically a war movie with a...

Anyone ever play with a female DM?

Remember, when you game with a particular DM, you're also gaming with everyone else they've ever gamed with.

Western Massachusetts Gamers - how many?

Eastern Mass although for what it's worth, I'm actually a Connecticutian. I use to live about 30 minutes from Springfield.

    Screen names and first impressions

Ditto on the Discworld reference....millenium hand and shrimp! Occasionally there is something in a name that gives you a clue about that person or thing. They say a rose by any other name would still smell as sweet, but what if they were called Crapweeds? Now, I grant you that a rose, upon...

Enworld Short Story Smackdown (aka Ceramic DM) - sign-up thread

Is this the official sign-up thread? If writers are still needed for this I'd like to throw my cranial clothing accessory into the rectangular fighting area.

    Post a culture

Tobarith Also known as the "Bull River" people, the Tobarith occupy a small land area surrounding the river Vea. Their lands were once rather large and the Tobarith empire once reigned an area fully eight times larger. Old and broken statues of minotaur-like figures now reside in many nations...

    stupid warning labels and disclaimers...

If you're thinking what I think you're thinking, well, I think that would still qualify as amusement purposes. :)

    stupid warning labels and disclaimers...

My GF and I went and visited her folks this weekend. At one rest stop, there were two pinball machines, each with a warning label that said "For amusement only." I'm still trying to figure out what the hell else we could have used them for.

    Stats at Character creation

For my Eberron game I did something a little peculiar and made it a 25 point buy but with all attributes starting at 10. The idea is that the PC's were the best candidates to join an special forces group and I wanted the stats to reflect a group with few or no flaws. It's worked, thus far...

    Righteous Might

To put it in context, the average gnome is 3'4 and weighs roughly 40 pounds. Double that height and he's 6'8, multiply the weight times eight and he now weighs 320 lbs. At that point he'd practically be goliath-sized. He's essentially gone from Billy Barty to Hulk Hogan. :)

Fantasy world maps and real world geology

I'm sure Multi would be glad to hear you say that. There might be some truth to it though. I imagine you'd need to have an epic level will save to not end up bored to death in Kansas.

    London 2012 logo. Nauseating?

Oy. 400,000 pounds? I'd have done it for 38.50 and a six pack. What the hell was the logo inspired by, peanut brittle? I heard about an "artist" somewhere who coats things in cheese. Thats his entire shtick, take something like a small bedroom and, coat it with mozzerella and wait for it to...

    suggestions for an orc wedding?

Mazel Tov! Y'know how at a Jewish wedding the groom must step on and break a wine glass? I imagine that something like that would be appropriate, only the object to be broken would probably have to be much bigger or more durable.

Fooling players who have memorized the MM

I don't think even one encounter I've pitted my players up agains so far has been a straight rip from one of the MM's. I can think of at least one player who has every book under the sun and several written during an eclipse. I wouldn't want to spoil the fun by having them completely prepared...

Pathfinder 1E hahah. Who's the Einstürzende Neubauten fan at Paizo?

My first D&D characters name was Bargeld. The funny thing is that I had been a Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds fan for a couple of years at the time, but I never knew the names among the band until probably a year or more after I made that character. :)

    Exotic weapon for BBQ enthusiasts

Oh man, I forgot about her. I think I've only ever seen one or two episodes of Ranma 1/2. I did own the SNES game for a while, although I tended to play as Mousse. :)
