    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Spell Changes

Only change is you can Wish to replace a feat, but you have to risk the 1/3 chance of losing Wish.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Sorcerer"

If it was one of only six metamagics I wouldn’t take it. There’s not a single spell my sorcerer will take level 1-20 that benefits from it. I would go out of my way to select a spell that would benefit from it though if its cost per use was -5 SP.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Sorcerer"

I would only ever select and use the new twinned if it gave me back 5 SP and/or one pizza slice.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Bard"

The Influence action in the playtest mentions setting a DC for charisma checks, but I’m assuming the DM could set the DC as the result of the opposed check, e.g. the opponent’s Insight check. If so, then Cutting Words can be used to subtract (ultimately) a d12 from their roll. So I believe a 17...

    Wrong thread sorry.

D&D 5E (2024) What is the 2024 Bard Power Source?

I think Crawford referred to the warlock, wizard and sorcerer as the three arcane full casters in the sorcerer video. So I guess a mix for bard.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Sorcerer"

Just listened to the cleric video. Sounds like Greater Divine Intervention will give clerics access to Wish, and that’s it with respect to Wish. And it looks like the Wish spell rewrite will include other ways to avoid the stress (1/3 chance of losing Wish). So every class that can cast Wish...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Sorcerer"

At least the 5.0 Twinned is potentially obtainable via Wish, assuming Wish didn’t get charged too much.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Sorcerer"

It was un-errata’d for 10 years. I only use Twinned on Wish for two Clones instead of one. I’d use Subtle on every spell if I could.

Which is why we like Twinned.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Sorcerer"

WOTC probably felt bumping them from 15 to 22 spells was the major change needed.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Sorcerer"

So we’re stuck with the nerfed version of Arcane Apotheosis. My bet is the cleric’s UA capstone will stick, so they’ll be the only class that can avoid the 1/3 chance of losing Wish. However, maybe that 1/3 chance is gone for every class in the new version of Wish.

    Thanks Veltharis, hope they’re okay.

D&D 5E (2024) Comeliness and Representation in Recent DnD Art

Okay with more/all human types in artwork. A reminder I can play a non-human. Okay that my character’s species is less diverse in that few/none are ugly/fat.

D&D General I think the choice of Species / Race / Ancestry has more to do with Story than Rules...

I respect you so much that I prioritize eye contact with you over my own safety and wellbeing, though in full disclosure, I am holding my breath.

D&D General I think the choice of Species / Race / Ancestry has more to do with Story than Rules...

All I ever wanted was to play a small-sized species that I find physically attractive without a head (halfling) or nose (gnome) the size of the Grand Canyon. Fairy loyalist, even if they had no mechanical bonuses.

D&D General Who “owns” a PC after the player stops using them?

Nope. I left and came back (about 6 months later) to learn some less than pleasant things had happened to my character. Shrug city though. The DM was still there and had to come up with some blah blah for what happened to my character, so totally fine with it.
