PrC Entries - Sample NPCs, yes or no?

QFT I also like having a new iconic associated with the class -- gives me an image to hang it on.

New Listing on Amazon--Dungeon Survival Guide

I'd think the Stormwrack,/Frostburn/Sandstorm line would cover for the Wilderness Survival Guide -- though they could use a mountain and forest treatment.

What's Wrong with Virtual Tabletop Play?

For me the preference ranking goes: 1) Playing around the table with my friends. 2) Playing over the internet using Klooge and Yahoo voice with my friends. 3) Not playing at all. 4) Playing around the table with some strangers. And, unfortunately, life is not about what you prefer -- it's...

    OotS 408...

What would really surprise me is if all the main characters were killed and replaced by a coven of vampire llamas named after Donald Duck's relatives.

    Turning Undead is Counter-Productive

Along the lines of what PM said -- fighting 4 ogres at once is a lot tougher than fighting 4 ogres one at a time. For undead, if you're facing 4 ghouls and one necromancer, by turning the ghouls you can level your whole firepower against the spellcaster, dispatch him in the first few rounds...

    You Judge Miko (OOTS)

One thing I find interesting is that, going by the very active discussion and debate in the other thread, I would have guessed that the poll would split out closer to 30/70 or 40/60 (still in favor of Miko falling, but much closer in number).

    OotS 406

Man, good catch! And it demonstrates one nice feature of the zealot -- they can always find some way to rationalize their prejudices, even if it takes 106 (edit: 108) strips. :)

    PbP Virtual Table Top (VTT)

That'd be perfect! I look forward to seeing it and bet that you'd quickly get a whole bunch of people trying to use it.

    PbP Virtual Table Top (VTT)

Huss, what we're looking for is a persistent online map that players and GMs could log into whenever they had the time, check the position of folks, then move their guys around. It wouldn't be used for playing simultaneously over the net, but to support Play by Message Board or PBEM games...

    PbP Virtual Table Top (VTT)

Something like this for PbP would be extraordinarily nice. I scoured the internet for various things that could be used as a persistent tabletop a few months back when we started a PbP game, and, while some software looked like it had potential, nothing really worked. There are some Ajax...

The Altar of Attap, why chargen development has failed

Just a note that a $30 retail price would likely result in roughly a $15 per unit margin of profit after taking into account packaging, distribution, and the retailer's cut. **** One issue I'm sure that WotC has with a proper character generator is that the end user will definitely want to be...

The Altar of Attap, why chargen development has failed

I think one problem is that the only company that can do it is WotC -- because the products has to have their closed content sourcebooks to justify anything beyond a hobbyist development expense. And WotC has really been pretty half-assed about it so far. They hired some guys they had do...

From PCGen to 3rd Party Software developers that wish to use PCGen Datasets

The way I remember it was that, prior to the official relationship with WotC, PCGEN had been distributing closed content and several members of the online community had pointed out that this violated copyright -- in particular, Clark Peterson of Necromancer Games (and a lawyer) was concerned...

PDF Titles -- A Request and a Warning

I thought I'd post a request that publishers of PDFs make sure to pay attention to the title field of the PDF. I use Acrobat 7's Digital Editions browser and it's vastly easier to use (especially for those PDFs with tiny landscape covers) when the title is actually the title of the book...

    PDFs: Why are people anti-watermark?

Watermarks strike me as a nice compromise between customer interests and publisher concerns, and frankly I see complaints about them as unreasonably inflexible.

    Joomla Finally Integrated

Joomla's really nice. I'm no uber-user but I found it reasonably easy to put together a decent looking site using it.

    City of Brass/Efreeti lovers

Very cool! And I could really use a campaign that starts at 12th level. I've got like a dozen modules and mini-campaigns that stop near 12th level.

Copying and pasting from a PDF?

The free Acrobat Reader does have copy and paste. Just look for the button that looks like a text select cursor.

Looking for a simpler PC Gen...

I believe Redblade 3.5 is free (here's a link to the download page): http://downloads.redblade.org/ There's a newer version coming out sometime too that will be more customizable, and still free.
