I find in general it's difficult to capture PCs in-campaign without being heavyhanded. Having players but in is one solution, but also feels very meta. I'm in the situation myself that I want to have my 9th lvl party captured by Orcs or Barbarins (undecided, probably barbarians), but don't know...
Interesting work. I do wonder if the many dead levels later on will kill a campaign.
Here's another take on refurbishing the classses to focus on levels 1-10. It's quite good and may give some inspiration for this work.
I have. A lot.
Smart enough to convince you, at least.
Thank you for informing me of my misunderstanding.
I'd thought it would be cheaper to use still photos, but that was not my point. It's not a question of style preference. The art is amateurish. Bad perspective. Bad body dimensions.
The Stargate Kickstarter combines all the worst elements from other kickstarters I've seen.
*Most stretch/social goals unlock add-ons, you then have to buy separately.
*All but one stretch goal you're not getting at the digital pledge.
You have to pay 10 f*cking dollars US to get kickstarter...
Well, a basilisk is sorta the classic pretrification encounter, so two saves seem appropriate. Your white, for all its qualities, is not classic the same way. That points at 3 saves. On the other hand, monsters are only supposed to last 3 rounds more or less. That points to 2 saves. Hmm..
Edit...
May I suggest that you start out with the ones that have featured in WotC adventures, i.e. Orcus, Baphomet, Demogorgon, Yeenoghu and the rest of the demons (primarily from OotA), Zariel, Bel, Tiamat from Avernus, Klauth and Imyrith etc.? 😉
What do you mean? Save proficiency does not affect CR (afaik) - though perhaps it should.
that could work. Risk being, it can't hit anything.
Still pondering this. Can't put my finger on it. It just didn't feel lurkery to me, more skirmish. In 4E a lurker typically had a build up, to a...
For the White, there should be a size limit for being proned/pushed like the tail. Otherwise, like it! Though, it doesn't seem as "brutish" as its 4e role (and earlier) would indicate.
For the Black, there should be a size limit for being proned/pushed like the tail. The Black must be in melee...
This is for the monsters. What paradigm do you use for the players, was my question. Do I understand you correctly that there really isn't a 'baseline'?
Doesn't CR become even more meaningless that it already is then? Then again. I guess that at those power levels each party is so unique, that...
Related to this, will you be basing the power of for example Demogorgon, but really all th named baddies of D&D, on 3rd party supplements from DM's Guild, or on your own "epic" character plans, or on expanding the "official" WotC way (i.e. boons)? I know we discussed this before, but I can't...
