    D&D 5E (2014) Thoughts on spending gold ...

So, using your previous example, it would take someone 5 x 10^52 years to do 200 items. Hilarious. It's not exponential.

    D&D 5E (2014) Thoughts on spending gold ...

It's not exponential, it's linear, but nevermind that. As DM it's up to you to decide how many magic items are in your campaign. I'd never allow 200+ different magic items, not counting mundane items, but if that works for you - great. It's still not exponentially harder to assign values.

D&D 5E (2014) Low Level Wizards Really Do Suck in 5E

If you're a Lore bard, at 6th level you get 3rd level or lower spells from any class. Valor bards have to wait until 10th level to get 5th level or lower.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5E: Ten Years Later

Baldur's Gate III using 5e rules. A mix of individual modules at different level ranges (or better yet, concrete examples in each module to scale it up or down in level), mega-modules, and module series sold individually. Re-vamped campaign settings.

    D&D 5E (2014) Thoughts on spending gold ...

And you can pick up a potion of healing in most towns for a reasonable price. But how many Dwarven Thrower's are there? Where can you find or buy one? Does it have a fixed cost? If two players can both afford it, should they both be able to walk into a store and pick one up?

    D&D 5E (2014) Common rules mistakes

Thanks. That's how I assumed it was, but since I'm not playing a subrace (or even a race that has subraces), and the OP said there was some confusion about this in the PHB, I thought maybe there was something I was missing...perhaps some contradicting info or something. Glad to hear there's not.

A baseball card or WWII pistol also has a fixed creation cost. I don't buy this argument at all.

    D&D 5E (2014) Common rules mistakes

Makes sense. I'm not playing a subrace so haven't really looked at them. Sounded like there was some confusion, so was wanting to know where in the PHB that might be coming from.

    D&D 5E (2014) Thoughts on spending gold ...

But why would a player ever think predictable pricing makes sense in-game, when it doesn't exist in the real world? Let's say you have a rare collectible item (a Revolutionary War musket, a Babe Ruth signed baseball, an unopened Kenner Darth Vader from the original run of action figures, etc.)...

    D&D 5E (2014) Gem of Your Collection

Holmes Basic Set that I've owned since it was released (and I was in 5th grade). Plus a bunch of Dragon magazines, 1e PHB, DMG, MM, Fiend Folio, and most of the original adventure modules, a bunch of Judge's Guild supplements, adventures, maps, etc., most of the Grenadier minis (plus a good...

And then there were 8! On Chris Sims and Jennifer Clarke Wilkes' Layoffs...

Yeah, pretty much. Blume also expanded into a bunch of crap including (I kid you not), a needlepoint business. Way too much expansion, way too fast. Gygax came back, regained his title for a bit, then was ousted again (permanently) in a stock option coup led by the Blumes and the woman who Gygax...

And then there were 8! On Chris Sims and Jennifer Clarke Wilkes' Layoffs...

I've been reading "Designer's & Dragons - 1970's" today (which actually covers quite a bit of the 80's). Loving it because I remember that entire period well. Anyway, I'm at the part where Kevin Blume exiled Gary Gygax, took control of the company (TSR) then proceeded to run it into the ground...

D&D 5E (2014) Is every Official Adventure Going to be about Saving the World?

I remember those well, as I still own most of them (along with the World of Greyhawk campaign setting). I plan to re-run several of those in 5e. Conversion shouldn't be difficult at all.
