D&D 5E (2014) So what exactly is Wizards working on?

Ding, ding, ding. I wish more people would realize this. I'm getting really tired of the overly selfish posts in so many threads. So much so that I've cut down my involvement/reading/posting here by at least half, and have considered just not returning. Plenty of good constructive discussion...

ELEMENTAL EVIL Player's Companion - FREE!

If that were true, Apple would be in big trouble. You could write encyclopedic volumes on the number of "leaked" prototypes for Apple products that never existed. And, every time, some overzealous tech writer or blogger took them as fact, and every time the message boards and comment threads...

    D&D 5E (2014) D20 Fight Club 5e [iOS]

Spells will be easy with the xml import. Until we get race import, those will sadly have to be manual.

Don't know yet, as I *just* leveled up prior to the update. I'll let you know once I hit next level.

    D&D 5E (2014) D20 Fight Club 5e [iOS]

I should also point out mine isn't a good use case, because my character is a half-elf, which wasn't in the old version either, so I had to manually enter racial modifiers (ex: CHA bump). The old version only had things from the basic rules, not the entire PHB. (I also manually added class...

    D&D 5E (2014) D20 Fight Club 5e [iOS]

Gotcha. After updating on one device, I saved to iCloud, then loaded onto my other device. It seems to have kept all my race based things. I'm hoping the dev eventually adds the ability to import classes, races, and feats.

    D&D 5E (2014) D20 Fight Club 5e re-launches as Fight Club 5th Edition

The app formerly known as D20 Fight Club 5e, that was removed after receiving a C&D from WotC, is back in the App Store re-branded as Fight Club 5th Edition. (If you have the older version, it'll update to the new one...no need to re-download.)...

    D&D 5E (2014) What is Missing from 5E?

What's "official"? Released by WotC? If so, then there are a few. You can get several of the play test adventures at dndclassics. But does it matter? Every edition has had plenty of good adventures from 3rd parties.

    D&D 5E (2014) D20 Fight Club 5e [iOS]

It's back. Not sure if it's made it back through the approval process yet, but the app has updated itself on my iPad, and the release notes say WotC is now ok with it. The bad: * All spells, classes, weapons, and other gear have been removed. Basically a blank slate. * Not sure if this is just...

D&D 5E (2014) Can someone please explain to me why there are still no PDFs for 5e core books?

Wow, talk about completely missing the point. None of your examples even remotely apply. I *own* the books. I paid money for them. They're currently in my backpack.

D&D 5E (2014) Can someone please explain to me why there are still no PDFs for 5e core books?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm not advocating anyone obtaining a PDF **of something they don't legally own**. That is the difference. You choose to use a narrower definition, and that's fine. Unfortunately, the laws were written long before there was even such a thing as digital...

D&D 5E (2014) Daggers, Knives, and Darts...... Are there no Knives in 5E....?!?!?!

He wants knives to be different that daggers, and wants more weapon specialization than feats and proficiencies can provide, therefore he's not going to play 5e. Fair enough. Personally, I think that's a pretty thin reason to shun a game, but to each their own. There are many other games out there.

D&D 5E (2014) Can someone please explain to me why there are still no PDFs for 5e core books?

Well, there is precedent: RIAA v. Diamond Multimedia Systems Inc http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/property00/MP3/rio.html Also, using the RIAA v. Diamond judgement (which was in favor of Diamond) as a basis, the US Copyright Office extended it to include DVDs. I haven't found anything specifically...

D&D 5E (2014) Can someone please explain to me why there are still no PDFs for 5e core books?

Who said anything about piracy? Certainly not me. We have different interpretations of fair use (as do the courts). I own all three physical copies. I choose to interpret fair use to say I can format shift. I also choose to see no difference between scanning it myself or having someone else do...
