Top 10 Reasons to Take 20 Levels in A Base Class

No one else is doing it? I played a Monk to 17th level before that campaign died. It was a lot of fun. One of the other players multi-classed just about every level with less than optimal results. Maybe I'm unique, but I'm not much into multiclassing in D&D. d20 Modern is something...

    Railroading is bad?

Ultimately, it's a matter of taste. Some people/groups may be perfectly happy following a DM's story. Others will rebel at anything that takes away from player control. I think the majority probably fall in the middle somewhere, generally weighted towards GM control. Using the metrics...

    Monkey Gun

The science nerd inside me thinks that's a cool experiment. But projectiles are inherently cool. Particularly those of the 5.56, 7.62, .50, and especially those of the 120mm variety. But I digress.

    Game Scheduling for July 15-17

That's too bad. The weekend of Dec 10 was looking really good for me. :p  I apologize. I couldn't resist. The parties responsible have all been sacked.

    Game Scheduling for July 15-17

But historically it has happened with some frequency. Nico and I also prefer Saturday, this time, and as a matter of course. :)

Just Curious ... Hom many come from AD&D?

First played 2E with some friends in 1993, but didn't really get into it until 1995 when I bought the newly revamped PHB. Got my good friends into it, though we quickly branched out into Battletech/MechWarrior and Shadowrun. Didn't catch up with 3E until 2002, shortly before 3.5 came out. Met...

    Character Ages and Physical Descriptions

According to what I could find, it's fairly arbitrary. In cases where no one knows what the father's name is, it appears to be standard to simply assign one.

    Character Ages and Physical Descriptions

Good question. I've looked into it a bit and haven't found anything, yet. I'll try and do some more focused searching in the future.

How much of your work-day is actually spent working?

Depends on the day, really. It can be as different as 20% to 100%. Somedays I come out and I've really accomplished a lot. Others I wonder what the hell I was doing all day. Now, I was interning for free for the last year and a half, but generally I work pretty hard. Now that I'm getting...

Steaks - Steak sauce, Ketchup, Rubs or none of the above?

Depends on the steak. If I'm at an Applebees type restaurant, then steak sauce is practically mandatory, because their best steak just isn't flavorful enough to stand alone. If it's a good cut of meat done on the grill cooked just right (possibly with some Montreal steak spices), then it...

What do you wish was made into a game?

I'd like to see a new Robotech RPG, perhaps d20 based or perhaps not. Just one that's more playable than the old Palladium version. I still own all those books, though. :heh:

You only think that because you aren't an open-minded person who is willing to consider the lessons to be learned from nontraditional perspectives. ;)

Iosef Vissarianovich Dzhugashvili is born in Gori, Georgia on December 9. For the historically impaired, Dzhugashvili later takes the name 'Stalin'

    Character Ages and Physical Descriptions

He is, indeed, 23, but he looks much older (perhaps early to mid 30's), due to the many years he's spent on the Steppe. He's fairly tall for the era and region, coming in at 5'9". He has black hair and brown eyes and an air of confidence. Also, just as a note, OOC it's fine to refer to him as...

    It's been a blast thus far! :D

What are you going to buy next?

d20-wise, DMG II or Complete Adventurer, although I'm not totally sold on DMG II yet. I'm also tempted by Iron Lore and Northern Crown, though they're not out yet. But my gaming budget this month went to d20 Modern and Sidewinder:Recoiled for the game I'm currently playing in, so next month...

    Game Scheduling for June 24-26

I know Nico and I generally prefer Saturday. I'll have to confer with her about Sunday, but I don't think it will be a problem, with the proviso that we end by 7. That's about the only way we can get home early enough so we can function on Monday. That's where we stand as of now.

Most (and least) interesting RPG books to read?

Seconded. The fluff is great and they generally include some useful crunch at the end. My least favorite tends to be d20 books. I have a great deal of difficulty just reading them or even sections without some specific purpose. Though it's certainly possible that there are exceptions to this...

Do you ever successfully remain friends with ex's?

I voted rarely, although it's closer to never. I generally need time away/lack any desire to ever see them again after a break up. But there is one case where, after about 6 months, we could be friends again. But it was never the same, which is too bad, because we were really good friends...
