Currently in a D&D campaign, but I hope to either run or play in a Shadowrun campaign when it's done.
We've also done some one shot d20 Modern, including a very entertaining 1920's adventure on a train. Good concept, I just wish Modern didn't feel so much like D&D.
I'd agree with this assessment. In Canada (where I grew up), it receives a lot of attention and a lot of pride rides on it, in part certainly because of Canada's integral role in the tournament historically. It was a huge deal in '96 when the US won, compounded by the later lack of success in...
To a general degree, I concur, but I would also argue that the international rules allow for a much faster, more entertaining game (which is comparable to the college game, as well) than the typical clutch and grab of the NHL.
But I have to say that this year's Stanley Cup was among the most...
Concur. If it weren't for college hockey, I'd be lost. World Jr's, Olympics and the World Cup just aren't enough. :p
Speaking of, good to see the alma mater well represented on the US Team:
DiPietro, Amonte, Drury, Tkachuk...Go Scahlet!
Heck, the Soviets never really go away as the EBSIS (Eastern Bloc of Soviet Independent States) becomes something of a power in the post-Macross, pre-Invid stage...at least you could play around with that according to the old Palladium RPG...not sure exactly how it matches up to canon as it's...
I'm intrigued by the idea of a scout class, as that type of thing is something I've wanted to play for a long time. Never quite gotten the right feel from combinations of fighter, rogue and ranger. I s'pose I'll have to wait and see like everyone else. :p
Thanks for the heads up!
Apparently you equate brilliance with planning. This is a false premise in this particular case. It's a matter of finding oneself in a particular situation (in this case captured by rebels) who then try and wean you over to their side. Suddenly an opportunity to get inside the enemies ranks...
There's no guarantees that having them on our side means they are really on our side.
It would be a brilliant way to infiltrate our ranks is all I'm saying.
But maybe that's a risk worth taking...
My view is pretty simple:
1)We're here, we have the handy gadget and there's a blade kicking around. First order of business is clearly to acquire the Spiritblade and ensure it doesn't fall into the King's hands. As Kennon mentioned at some point, if the King's plan requires all the blades...
The numbers disappeared... :)
?) Turn a carefully constructed plot device (massive invading army of doom) into an adventure.
??) Singlehandedly knock the more powerful (in CR terms) draconid off the tower and engage him in single combat (nearly a PK...)
???) Play a broody character whose...
Oh, the gelatinous cube. In a relatively recent adventure we ran into these creatures in a sewer crawl. My character (a half-orc monk with an intelligence of 6 and a wisdom of 20) managed to fail both the reflex save to avoid it in the first place (he had improved evasion at this point, no...
While I enjoy both aspects, I would have to say that I lean a bit more towards the "alternate reality" or simulationist perspective that includes the opportunity for the heroic stuff (I'm a sucker for last stand type stuff :p ). But I really enjoy exploring worlds, designing worlds and...
Actually I was being facetious, but I admit I didn't indicate it well, if at all. A downfall of this type of communication, but my bad nonetheless.
It just seemed that you were arguing that the rules are as written and having an interesting debate over them was pointless because "the rules are...
So D&D is inherently inflexible in that you must use the rules as written and any debate over the interpretation is pointless?
While I understand why poison is described the way it is in the rulebooks, I don't think there's any reason why one shouldn't be able to use it without "breaking" the...
Do dual citizens count? I'm originally from the States and have returned here, but I grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (yes, I say grade 10 not tenth grade) and return to the accent when I'm drinking (what I wouldn't do for some Big Rock in these parts...)
As for favorite moment in history...
