What's New With Iron Crown Enterprises?

I find it easier and preferable to deal with smaller numbers. I played RM religiously for years in the 1980s and was fine with d100, but my tastes have changed. I do think d20 gives a perfectly adequate amount of results. I like HARP quite a bit, but I wish it would use a d20. Just my opinion.

What's New With Iron Crown Enterprises?

HARP needs a second edition. Please get rid of the d100 roll-over and convert it to d20 roll-over. D100 doesn't add anything IMHO. The game's original author (who now makes the Novus RPG) tried to get ICE to allow him to use d20 for HARP instead of d100. And, to clarify, I'm not suggesting using...

    "Weird" bestiary

Oh, that's cool. Reminds me of the Harry Potter spell.

    "Weird" bestiary

Bumping this in the hope of getting some suggestions for a title.

    "Weird" bestiary

I've been working on a "weird" bestiary compatible with 5e. I've just received the first commissioned pieces of art. I haven't landed on a name for the bestiary that I'm happy with, and am looking for suggestions. The creatures & NPCs in the bestiary are all designed to be of the batshit...

Tales From The Yawning Portal - 7 Classic Dungeons Updated To 5E!

Very uninspiring. Obviously WOTC's new product model of releasing only a handful of D&D books per year must be working for them, but it has left me with a severe case of the "meh"s, especially when the variety of the releases has been lacking. If Dragon magazine were still around, it wouldn't...

Pathfinder 1E Any vetetan PF players give the Beginner Box a try?

When I got the Beginner Box, I was very impressed (as I mentioned in an earlier post). I liked how it boiled down PF to an "essentials" version and, in many ways, I would love to see an "expert" set as a companion, expanding the game to level 10 and adding 3 or 4 classes. Have any of you played...

Pathfinder 1E Would an "expanded" Pathfinder Beginner game be of interest?

I have all of the games you mentioned, but none of them do what I'm thinking about. If you have the Beginner Box, that is pretty much what I'm talking about. Same system as Pathfinder, but easier to manage. It still has feats and skills, but not to the overwhelming degree that PF core has.

Pathfinder 1E Would an "expanded" Pathfinder Beginner game be of interest?

A few years ago, the Pathfinder Beginner Box was released to much acclaim. My immediate reaction was "I wish this was a complete game rather than just an introduction." Now, obviously, you could use it as a complete game if you want to limit your advancement, etc. But I loved the simplified...

    Are these ideas any good?

Playing around with ideas for Savage Worlds and wondered what you think of these. - Spend a benny to draw a second initiative card, allowing you to act twice in one round - Gain a benny when in native environment (such as Tarzan in a jungle). If it isn't used after you have left the...

My Frankenstein's monster of a setting: what do you think?

Good point. I'll post more ideas this weekend and ask you good folks to leave feedback.

My Frankenstein's monster of a setting: what do you think?

I'm developing a hybrid sword & sorcery/post apocalypse/alien invasion RPG using 5e. Primary influences are Tarzan, Conan, Thundarr the Barbarian, and even Land of the Lost. Below are the seeds of its development. I'm interested in your thoughts in general. Is it interesting? Do you have...

5e Homebrew Setting: Malebolge, Post-Apocalyptic Fantasy

The mutating dwarves is something I've seen in the now-defunct RPG, 'Gemini.' Have you ever seen that? It's very cool. Might give you even more inspiration.

Take Your D&D Adventures Into The Realms Of Middle-earth

There have been many adventures published by C7 for The One Ring and they have all been divorced from the Fellowship's quest. It's been a non-issue, honestly. The game is set between the events of the Hobbit and LOTR. So far, they haven't concentrated on world shaking events. You can play the...

How were these "rules" supposed to work, anyways???

Pre 3.x, many rules and procedures are vague at best. A basic check to spot something, move stealthily, and so on, are essentially not addressed. Sure, the thief has move silently/hide in shadows, but any such attempts by non-thieves aren't covered. There is mention of using ability checks...

I've finally published my first RPG!

After a year of writing and revising, I've managed to publish Red Mists, a sword & sorcery RPG based on the Freeform Universal RPG engine and illustrated by Earthdawn artist Earl Geier. The mechanics are inspired by the Freeform Univerasal RPG. You start with a base die, add a number of d6...

    The Guide to Glorantha

5 out of 5 rating for The Guide to Glorantha I'm not even a big Glorantha fan, but this is the single most impressive RPG product I've seen in 35 years of roleplaying. Gorgeous production values and a colossal amount of easily-accessible text make this THE model all other RPG campaign guides...

Have any of you tried Myth & Magic?

Myth & Magic was a 2e-inspired game that had a hugely successful Kickstarter that was eventually a bit of a fiasco. It is available at DTRPG and other places as a pdf. I bought it and felt it was a bit too much like 3e for my tastes (not that I don't like 3e, but I was hoping for something more...

What made you stick with 3.x?

For those who still play 3.x, what made you stick with it rather than jump over to Pathfinder?
