    More about wizards by kunadam

Where is it stated that the implements are NEEDED to cast the spell? The only previews I have seen *including the Dragon article about wizards* made them out to applying bonuses to the spells.

    Defining its own Mythology

Exactly... If someone doesn't like the new flavor that has been shown I can accept that, but as far as mechanics go it boils down to there being way too many variables to make any assumptions.

    Defining its own Mythology

AWizardinDallas I keep seeing you claim that the write up in the MM for gnomes will be less than the write up for the PHB races based on previous editions of the game. I'm not sure if anyone else agrees with me on this, but that seems to be an unreasonable assumption. We have not seen the...

    Halfling Homes

being from south louisiana myself I can definately relate to the concept of hobits being a boating/trade culture from rivers and swamps. Will make my older sister very happy since she has always been a fan of halflings in our d&d games.

    Heroic/Paragon/Epic

Sadly those rules predate me, since I started around the time of players option (although I think I was a little earlier). The only reason I am concerned by the possible jump in power between catagories is the feats which were previewed had the tier has a prereq. As long as they avoid what...

    Heroic/Paragon/Epic

I definately think that the three groupings of levels has great potential to help define the style of game the DM is interested in. One thing that I am wondering about is how much high Heroic is going to differ from low Paragon. Will it feel like you have crossed over some magic speed bump of...

Do you like the title 'Paragon'?

I am noting a trend of not including some sort of apathetic choice in polls like this. I didn't pick one because I would need something along the lines of "Paragon is fine, but I wouldn't mind another name like Mythic". It seems like a good chunk of the poll makers are only taking into account...

    Warlocks and Rogues

I just realized that the Star pact would be perfect for the far realms pact source that some people have been wanting(myself included). I also think that the original warlock preview may have held some thing back since they would want some new info to be in the books. *now has more ideas for his...

    My first Savage Worlds experience...

After running a few SW Deadlands session over the past month I think that the biggest thing helps the PCs is the inclusion of the Wild Die. I have seen many a poor trait role saved because of a REDICULOUSLY high roll on the Wild Die.

    Warlord or Soldier?

I wasn't saying that leader class need implied leadership over the group. I was saying that between soldier and warlord, the warlord name express the role while soldier is merely the possability of the role.

    soldier instead of warlord

And the bard will be coming, but as an arcane based leader class from what the devs have said. Really I think that the Warlord is basically the Marhall class from minitures handbook with some tweaks. Get bonus if you listen to his spiel. If you choose not to take his advise, no bonus. Only real...

    A mystery race ?

I am hoping that the new PHB race is going to fill the big strong guy role. I'm not sure which race it should be, but I would definately like it to be something large sized(so we have 1 small, 1 large, and the rest medium)

    Warlord or Soldier?

I think of Soldier as being directly tied to military for one thing, but also I think that it is more directly tied to following orders in my mind. I know that every officer is a soldier, but not all soldiers are officers. If leadership/buff/whatever powers they get which help with the "leader"...

The best way to do Death Effects?

I voted for option 7, since it enables not only the heroic last words Planar Sailing was talking about but also gives the oppertunity for a rush to find a cure type of adventure which seems like a good idea to me.

    soldier instead of warlord

Buffing is something a "Leader" archtype would do because they are using their grasp of tactics to keep the party operating more efficiently.

have 3rd parties gotten the srd yet?

I doubt you know me, unless you frequent the New Orleans area. Didn't come across as a dick or anything at all. To be honest we are primarily looking at a PDF business model for most of the reasons you spoke of, at least for any d20 material we release. Looking for a distributor will come about...

Players, DMs and Save or Die

As a DM I hate using SoD against my players. It feels heavy handed and robs characters of the chance to put up the good fight. I also dislike SoD when used against storyline important NPC's. I do like the SoPut on a Timer, effect that were spoken of earlier. But stright out "I rolled low so I...

have 3rd parties gotten the srd yet?

What I want to know is what about new companies that have been putting off developing D&D stuff until the 4th ed SRD comes out. Will we get the SRD later than some of the bigger companies? Will we all get it at the same time? Will they just drop it on the website and see what happens?

    D&D 4E 4E Cosmology & Yougoloths

PATCHES O HOOLIHAN now that is out of my system. Never really used Yugoloths, but it kinda sounds like they will still be in there.
