Military RPGs - What have you got?

Gonna add the Weird War series from Pinnacle. The newest version uses the Savage world rules and focus's on an alternate WWII where the supernatural was heavily involved. There is also Tour of Darkness which is another nam based game which also ties into the weird wars setting.

What can Google Insight tell us about RPGs?

I'm pretty sure that the bit about a decline in new gamers was exactly what Umbran was talking about in the very last point of his post.

Forked Thread: Overshadowed by Elminster? Yes! And happy for it!

Never involved with a game of that sort, but as long as it is clear that is the type of game in advance it sounds very fun.

    Overshadowed by Elminster?

Happened once or twice for me, back in the 2nd ed days. Playing with a group of my older sister's friends in an FR game. We started off in some town right next to El's tower, and it was all downhill from there. Between the DM's final encounter where we watched Elminsiter fight some demon thing...

    Projectors

To echo the sentiment since I know zip all about projectors. What resolution would you recommend to look for and if you are using a rear projection (like the one shown here http://tyrendes.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!3B5F578C5068731F!271.entry) would frosted acrylic be a good enough projection surface?

    Who's going to Origins?

I'm going to my first one this year, even if I will only be there one day (it happens to line up with a family vacation to Columbus and Pittsburgh)

Clearing out my bookshelf (need advice)

I don't need it so quick that I would resort to a used book store, especially since I would prefer them going to someone who is going to actually use them (Where I am in south Louisiana the used book store would be the kiss of death for many of my books). The price has me unsure since I am not...

Clearing out my bookshelf (need advice)

Hey guys, due to recent financial and general gaming decisions I have decided to unload some of my 3.x collections. Problem is I have no idea where would be a good place to do this quickly since that is also a key factor in my decision. With the general gathering of intelligent people here this...

    Writing Setting Blurbs

Well this blurb sold me on the setting. Definitely makes the setting provocative and unique.

A Question for the 25 and under crowd - What have you read?

Turning 25 this year and I have to vote a big YES for Moorcock. Without a doubt he has been one of my biggest inspirations in the realm of D&D.

Summer Gaming Report: What Are You Playing?

Looks like my group will be continuing with my 4th Ed game and adding a M&M game to the mix where I will finally get to play. (the world will tremble at the might of PROTO-TOAD!!)

Critiquing the Conjunction : Forked from the Great Conjunction

Glad to see there is still some interest here. Now that work and night classes have slown down I hope to get back on track with my project.

    Customizable GM Screen interest survey

I already have the three panel landscape one which Great White Games was selling for awhile (not sure if they still carry it) but a four or five panel one would be interesting as long as the profile isn't too high.

    Rod of Seven parts

The purpose of the artifact is pretty much set in stone as being stop what it perceives as the evils of chaos. (for this campaign it is actually focused on stopping an avatar of Tharzidun which was created last session). What I do not like is the old powers for the individual parts. I am still...

    Challenge of Champions

I am trying to come up with a 4th ed version of the Challenge of Champions tournaments that were printed in the old issues of Dragon, but I was hoping to field some ideas for events and how to break up the teams. The only thing I am set on is removing the class/role team requirements and just...

    Rod of Seven parts

In my episodic 4e game, I have decided to use the Rod of Seven parts as a focus to the overall plot line of the game. The PC's are about to start searching for the first piece that an NPC told them about. My problem is I cannot think about how to stat them up for 4th ed. I'm not a big fan of the...

Anderson, Moorcock, and the history of alignment

As a long time Eternal Champion fan, I think it fair to point out the MM's take on Law and Chaos goes beyond what is presented in the Elric stories. The moral associations were really dependent on the situation and the person. In some worlds, the lords of law have a clear advantage and the world...
