D&D General Eberron - why don't you run it? [-]

Yeah, I've seen Keith Baker give similar advice: pick one main theme / villain and maybe sprinkle in a few others as window dressing, but don't try to do everything everywhere all at once! ;) For the Eberron campaign I'm currently running, I mainly wanted to run the Keys from the Golden Vault...

    Gotcha! Thanks for clarifying.

D&D General Eberron - why don't you run it? [-]

Which is it? And yet, for me, it's not enough! There are whole swathes of the setting that are literally just names on a map with absolutely nothing written about them whatsoever in any edition. Sometimes it's hard to believe anything exists outside of Sharn. There's also a dearth of...

D&D General Eberron - why don't you run it? [-]

I love how one person says Eberron should be low-level only because it can't support high-level play, and another person complains that Eberron has no mid-to-high level adventure support!

D&D General Eberron - why don't you run it? [-]

I've played through the AL Oracle of War campaign. It had its low points, but I thought overall it did do a great job of making me feel like I was actually playing in the Eberron setting. My understanding is the DM did put a lot of work into beating the individual adventures into shape, but the...

D&D 5E (2024) How excited are you for the 2 upcoming Forgotten Realms books?

Sure, but it is technically "set" in Greyhawk. 🤷

D&D 5E (2024) Using Action Surge to cast spells in 2024

I'm not saying the lack of the specific "magic action" terminology is the problem. Just there is clearly an issue here, so we can toss it on the pile of other unresolved issues that the first round of errata didn't address. At the very least, this could go into a new Sage Advice FAQ.

D&D 5E (2024) Using Action Surge to cast spells in 2024

There's also still a bunch of things they failed to address in the official errata. We can chuck this loophole on the pile!

D&D 5E (2024) How excited are you for the 2 upcoming Forgotten Realms books?

Yeah, I mean, we've already got that in Ghosts of Saltmarsh, so they could ostensibly do another one.

D&D General Blue on Blue (Goblins)

As I mentioned in the other thread, 5e has some psionic goblins in the Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk adventure. They're not a playable species, but it wouldn't be hard to reverse engineer them. The psionic goblins in the book all have: Resistance to psychic damage Mental...

Spoilers Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

“Through the Looking Glass” It’s fun to watch the cast play their mirror counterparts, and this one tugged on the heartstrings with respect to Ben and Jennifer. But … hoo boy, was Sisko quick to jump in the sack with mirror Dax! (And I presume mirror Kira.) “Improbable Cause” I love Bashir...

That's because it's stated in the "Activating a Magic Item" section.

D&D 5E (2024) How excited are you for the 2 upcoming Forgotten Realms books?

Don't hold your breath! Chris Perkins said, when the new DMG first came out, that WotC wasn't planning to revisit Greyhawk any time soon. He deliberately designed the version that's in the new DMG as a standalone thing for DMs to make their own. Now, of course, CP has left WotC, so that may...

Spoilers Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

I get what they were going for - a suspenseful episode where Bashir has to figure out what's going on as he rapidly ages and a "monster" hunts parts of his mind, etc. It was a neat idea. Just not executed as well as it could have been.

Spoilers Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

I found "Distant Voices" a bit boring ... I ended up watching it on 1.25 speed just to get through it faster. The bits between Garak (or "Garak") and Bashir were great. The whole "vain Dr Bashir is worried about getting old so let's age him rapidly to put things in perspective for him" was a...
