Have any of you DMs out there allowed players converting to 3.5 to get their skil lranks back that they have placed in Animal Empathy now that it is a class ability called Wild Empathy?

Perhaps it will be useful when the fighter book comes out in DEC?

See that's the funny thing. There are a few prestige classes that require BOTH ranks in animal handling and animal empathy. Since animal empathy is now known as wild empathy and does not use ranks, just trying to come up with a logical way to use it in the 3.5 aspect.

Some prestige classes require you to have certain amount of ranks in animal empathy. What do you think is a good option to convert this to 3.5 since this is no longer a skill? LOL. I was acutally referring to the gunblade from FF8. In skills & powers of 2nd edition fame, they had sword-pistols. Looking for some good insights or advice to port it over to 3rd edition.

Anyone ever come up with stats for a sword-pistol? I was thinking of just treating it as a longsword and Small Pistol. Perhaps a DC 15 Dex check to fire the pistol in melee at the same time the sword is used?

what is D&Dg? Basically I was looking for a base class, a feat, or a prestige class that gave rage ability. I want a berserker character. A warrior that can go berserk, but does not get all that 'uncivilized' barbarian stuff (damage resistance, fast movement, uncanny dodge, etc).

Is there a berserker base or prestige class anywhere? I had a character who was a berserker from the old 2nd edition Celts book. I know I can just take barbarian to get the berserker rage, but all the other benefits of the barbarian do not fit well with my character.
