    I need Illusions for Dummies

Many illusions are often of creatures. Any sort of attack that hits an illusion (remember, AC = 10 + size modifier only, so its easy) would be considered interaction. You can often influence enemy behavior just fine with an illusion without giving a save. For example, create a real stinking...

    Unseen Servant & Bonds

The PCs ran back to the KOd caster and revived her for a moment to interrogate her briefly, then they knocked her out again. I figure that the caster could have easily given a command at that time such as: "When nobody but me is present, retrieve the vial over there marked 'faith healing' from...

    Unseen Servant & Bonds

Scenario: Caster is captured. Said caster is bound, gagged, stripped naked, and tied up (masterwork manacles for hands, ropes for feet with a DC 27 use rope check). Party leaves caster unsupervised to deal with the real BBEG. The caster had an Unseen Servant cast earlier which went unnoticed...

    Augment healing and undead

With things like Touch of Healing (or wands of Lesser Vigor!), Augment Healing is a pretty sub-optimal feat selection. I'd have no problem with it doing a few extra points of damage vs. undead.

    Used wands?

Sure, I'd allow it. It might require a Gather Info check for a rare spell, and the seller would be randomly generated, so you might not be dealing with a paragon of virtue... Perhaps that wand of CLW used to be used by an evil cleric to heal his minions, but the cleric just bit it on the last...

    VoP and Monk

VoP monk is pretty ineffective, especially at higher levels. The biggest problem -- other than lack of offense -- is lack of versatility. VoP doesn't let you fly across that ravine; it doesn't let you easily gain Pro from Fire when the party adventures in Muspelheim; it doesn't let you get...

    Critters with no CON score

What impacts does not having a CON score have for creatures? I've skimmed the SRD but couldn't seem to find any relevant passages. For example, would undead need to make a FORT save vs. stinking cloud? If so, what would modify their fort save (CHA perhaps)? Thanks!

    Immunity to 'nauseated'

I think you've got your answer right in the spell -- it grants a fort save. Sure, a caster can grant their saves up to absurd levels, but strong fort saves are very common. Most every important NPC should have 14 CON. Most humanoid types have strong fort saves. Arcane casters are most...

    Sunder vs. Tower Shield

Another quick followup -- would the wielder of any shield (light, heavy, whatever) have to deal with the TWF penalties on their opposed sunder roll? Would they take TWF penalties on their next attack roll with their on-hand weapon as well? Oy vey!

    Trying to play a warlock...

As handy as the extra feat and SP are, I think halflings are worthy of an honorable mention for the +2 DEX and +1 size bonus to hit. That's effectively +2 to hit, superior to Weapon Focus (a feat). Still, likely best off with human for the versatility.

    Sunder vs. Tower Shield

For sundering purposes, is a tower shield considered a held or carried item? Or is it treated like a shield/weapon? IF HELD OR CARRIED: "You don’t use an opposed attack roll to damage a carried or worn object. Instead, just make an attack roll against the object’s AC. A carried or worn...

    OMG: The Core Cleric

Maybe I'm a jerk, but when playing the cleric I rarely devote many resources or rounds to buffing fellow party members (with rare exceptions). I consider it each player's responsibility to (A) figure out how to survive (B) figure out how to be effective in combat and (C) how to do something out...

    Corpsecrafter for Liches

Could a lich who took the Corpsecrafter feats (Libris Mortis) apply the benefits of those feats to itself? "Each undead you raise or create with any necromancy spell gains..." My gut feeling is no, as a lich doesn't explicitly use any necromancy spell such as Create Undead to undergo their...

How to make 'being surrounded by enemy crossbowmen' deadlier?

I'm running the Red Hand of Doom, which features lots of low-level mooks (Level 1-4 warriors) vs. PCs that get up towards 10th level. I've kept the mooks dangerous by occasionally equipping them with poisoned ammo or Bane (human) ammo. A low level mook can afford a few doses of poison or a...

    Spell Component Pouch

I assume they collect the odds and ends on a daily basis. Adventuring in a cave? Grab some bat guano. Outside? Grab a pinch of dust. At a halfling trader's camp? I bet they have a bit of wire I can have for a copper.

    Blighter caster level

Ah-hah! I read that block of text like three times and somehow missed it. Thanks for the eagle eyes!

    Blighter caster level

So, a Druid 6 takes the plunge and becomes a blighter. At level 3 blighter -- ECL 9 -- what is the caster level of his spells? Are they 3 -- equal to the blighter level? or are they 9 -- equal to HD? Could the character take Practiced Spellcaster to increase CL? Thanks!

    AOO and Free actions.

Could the crossbowman have been wearing spiked gauntlets -- and thus threatened -- to get the AoO? At the end of each round they remove a hand from their Xbow as a free action, then at the start of the next round the replace their hand as a free action. Also, could they have used the Xbows as...

    Building a Desert-themed Cleric - Need Suggestions

I have to disagree with the above poster on class makeup. One of the fundamental rules about building clerics is "Thou shalt not lose caster levels." Mystic theurge (or any other dual-caster build for the most part) is a trap. Dipping "just one level" of that fighter class to get a feat or...

    Help me pick my feat?

Might not be a bad idea to shore up a weakness - I imagine your will save isn't too hot, for example!
