Rather than just skim the text, READ it. They specifically state which ones are excempt from getting auto maxed. Umm, sneak attack, hunter's quarry, and the curse extra damage all are rolled. They specifically state WHICH rolled damage is not maxed as a matter of fact on p. 278.

Maximillian is correct. Anything (high crit weapon, magic weapons, etc...) that add extra damage dice on a crit ONLY are not maximized. p.278 in the PHB. A sneak attack, warlocks curse, and hunter's quarry add extra damage normally and ARE maxed.

Thanks guys! Guess reading all the keywords would be helpfull. If you know you're gonna have a hell of an encounter, it'd be best to activate ASAP so you don't waste that action for something else (dwarf 2nd wind for example).
