    Dragon #297 Contents questions

The area of effect for Shadar's Primal Devastation is a 300-ft. radius. The only hint as to the Primal Elemental's stats is that its CR is 35. Rabbi Loew's Golem is defined as an "Epic Golem" (as is the Sphinx). It has an intelligence of 5, it can take an extra partial action each round, it...

    Crown Royal dice bags

Nobody in our group uses them. I don't have many dice, and keep mine in a (un)leather-like drawstring bag that held eyeglass frames. I do have a special stand to put them on during play, though.

    Dragon #297 Contents questions

Actually, it didn't. I just felt bad that I started the thread, then disappeared and didn't answer any questions. As for the Arcane Lord, it's equally usefull for wizards and sorcerors, and they mention that some bards could take it as well. It allows them to double a spell's maximum damage...

    Dragon #297 Contents questions

Re: A question on Dragon #297 I didn't describe them in my initial summary because I was worried about spoilers (since they tie in with "The Razing of Redshore" from Dungeon). It's also just very hard to describe them without a lot of summary of the background, which deals with the appearance...

    Dragon #297 Contents questions

Edit: I usually check to see whether anyone has beat me before I post... The axani are "often quite attractive" with symmetrical features, no facial or bodily hair, and "overly neat" appearances. They very occasionally have a metallic glint to their "skin or hair," though it's not clear whether...

    Favorite "Free" Monsters

(surprised Sean K. Reynolds doesn't have more shills) You can find find some monsters (particularly templates) here as well: http://www.seankreynolds.com/rpgfiles/monsters/monsters.html I'm very fond of the Skinrug Guardian.

    Asgard 6 released

One error I just noticed: In the b/w version, a number of the pages that are open content have both the "open" and "closed" content symbols overlayed on each other in the lower left corner.

    Asgard 6 released

I'm sure they didn't mean anything insulting by "misergard6", but it's a nice option. Nice cover Dr. Midnight. The rest of the art is nice as well; I particularly like David Hendee's stuff. The article on professions seems like a fairly usefull rules addition, and there's a good chance it will...

    Dragon #297 arrived

They seem to be exclusive to Dragon, though the use of the word "new" in this context doesn't really mean much. There's no mention of anything being an excerpt.

    Wanted: Jack Vance Suggested Reading

The books can be found in the omnibus edition Tales of the Dying Earth, which is still in print. If you want to track them down separately, they're The Dying Earth, The Eyes of the Overworld, Cugel's Saga and Rhialto the Marvellous. Actually, I think only the first two were out when D&D was...

    Dragon #297 arrived

Here's part of the blurb for #298: "...Discover the secret life of dark elves. Use the equipment drow create for their vile undertakings. Driders not enought for you? Witness Lolth's other terrible punishments. Give your drow character or NPC a boost with eight new drow prestige classes. Also...

    Dragon #297 arrived

I bogged down this version with a little more information (all the names of spells, feats, magic items) than the one I sent off to Morrus for the news page (if he uses it). I anticipated questions. The following three articles contain rules information relating to the Epic Level Handbook. All...

WOW - d20 Modern BoVD - New Covers - What do you think?

I prefered the preliminary version. The womans pose seemed less stiff, and while I thought she should have a gun that was a little bigger...at least the sword is shorter. I'd rather the magic user had kept some kind of walking stick. Ridiculously personal carpings aside, the artist did a nice...

    [OT] Marvel Heroclix

IIRC, Wizards' deal with Lucas includes miniature games, and Hasbro has that Jedi Duels game out, so the rights to a Clix-type game are probably tied-up.

    What D&D character are you?

Neutral good elf druid ranger, follower of Mielikki. Pretty close to the my current tendencies in character creation. In RL, I'd think I'd have higher than 2 in LG, and lower than 6 in CG, but the overall NG would probably be about right.

    ESDs and Uk/Europe distribution

Sometime last year someone from Wizards posted here on ESD's being unavailable to the rest of the world. I believe he said something to the effect that the ESD program just wasn't a big enough deal for them to go to the trouble of trying to deal with the tax laws of all the different countries...

[OT] Star Wars Episode II: AOTC - Easter Egg Hunt

My wife tells me that in the novelisation, it is Qui Gon's voice, and that Yoda hears it as well. There's some sort of comment that it was unprecedented. (A lot of stuff that turns up in novelisations was cut from the scripts or during editing. Salvatore did "add in a lot of things" but it all...
