Assuming you will have internet connection during the game, try pbwiki (pbwiki.com) and build a site for your campaign. You can then build links between encounters, upload images...I find it to be a great tool. Now it doesn't do things like rolling, but it is quite useful.

What bothers me most in this is cosmetic...the names. How many compound pointless words can they make up per page? It seems to me that the old standards of mithril and adamantine have been removed because they aren't copywriteable. WotC has to replace anything that doesn't fall under their IP...

When I saw that I read the "+" as a "x". Two additional squares of movement seems too little to be worth granting combat advantage for an entire round, I'd think. I'm hoping it was a typo.

I like using it as a DM so I have all sorts of resources at hand. Access to emails that we have sent, access to the wiki site that we have set up for the game (www.pbwiki.com), the SRD, etc. I am NOT keen with players having laptops. It ends up being a distraction for them.

I'm not going to comment on the money grab theory until I see the book, but I will say that the sample dragons are the one part of Draconomicon that I use. I've probably pulled four of them out over the past year or so. Meanwhile I've barely read much of the rest of the book.

Yep, that's my problem with the MF. I change it to a single target blast so the rest of the party can still react.

I like the modernish best, but I'm a realist for maps. If the map is for the players to use for reference, then I prefer modern map styles. If the map is for the characters to get in-game, then a more handdrawn style is better.
