    Family D&D Campaign

Arwink, I like the Hogwart's idea. Kind of a school for adventurers where the "courses" are having to overcome so many challenges. At some point (perhaps 4-5th level) they "graduate" to the world at large. Buttercup, I'll definitely check out the story hour and thread. Thanks for the tips...

    Family D&D Campaign

I'm in the process of starting a D&D campaign for my family. The kids see us play each week and want a game of their own. The players will be my 10 year old daughter, my 7 1/2 year old son and my wife. My wife plays in our weekly game. The kids have played before, so they have a general...

The Gamer's Bag does excellent work!

Just got my royal size bag today! Beautiful. I got my wife the large (both bags in leather) about two months ago and have been jealous since. I had to order one to hold all my dice. It's great. When you compare what you get from Gamer's Bag to the normal cheap bags you find at gaming...

    Spells on index cards...

Has anyone had any success printing Dr. Midnight's cards on an HP LaserJet 1100? I've tried a number of different setttings, and I can't seem to get the print output correct. I've done similar things in MS Word, with a custom page size, but I can't seem to adjust the page properties in...

    Auctions on EBAY..

I'm going to agree with the other posters here. I've sold a few items on eBay, and purchased a bunch. I've noticed that individual items will sell at a higher (relative) price than bundles. Most people that are looking for oop or used material already have some and don't need a whole...

D20 conversion to "Against the Giants"

G1 and G2 are up there on the old conversion list. G3 isn't. FWIW, I'm just about to start doing my own conversion of the whole GDQ series. I've been looking at Rob Sanders work as a base for the project.

    Spells on index cards...

Haven't done it with NPC stats yet. I still like using full size sheets for that. But I have done it with Monsters. I have an index card box (actually 2, one for monster cards, one for spell cards) that has a bunch of monster stats on 4x6 cards, with all the important stats and special...

    Spells on index cards...

I've done my own for often used spells. I created a word template that fits 4x6" index cards, and then cut & pasted from the SRD to the index cards. Works real well and doesn't take up a whole bunch of time.

    eTools Patch and Source Code

Could be, but it doesn't sound like that. "Turning over" the source code sounds like Fluid won't have anything to do with the project anymore. Otherwise, you'd think they would say that they are delivering a copy of the code to WotC for archival purposes or some such.

Placing the Sunless Citadel in Greyhawk: Suggestions on Location Requested

In my game, I put it in northwestern Furyondy. On the LGG map, it is in hex V12 (if I've figured out how to reference hexes on that map correctly  ). Anyway, it just seemed like a good spot, and the characters are on average 7th level now. Outside of a rescue mission in the Shield...

Don't forget a full set of dice too. That's 3-4 bucks right there.

    Intro to D&D product

I'd definitely go with the Gold Box Adventure Game! It's the way that I introduced D&D to my family (and re-introduced myself to it, after not playing since 1E). My 2 older kids (ages 6 & 9), and my wife (who had never roleplayed before) picked it up very quickly. The game gives pregenerated...

Dragonstar's "Imperial Supply" looks great for any scifi game

I agree. The book, while good, is not of the same caliber as Starfarer's Handbook or Guide to the Galaxy. It's a good equipment book, end of story. The art is ok; there's even one panel that's printed in the book twice (I thought I was rereading the same section when I came across it again)...

    eTools Patch and Source Code

$30 gone pretty quick. I can't say enough how disappointed I've been with eTools. Between Hero Forge, RPM & Campaign Suite, they all do such a better job than eTools! The only think I liked eTools for was monster advancement, but it sure wasn't worth 30 bucks. I agree that this is likely...

FFG Mythic Races - to buy or not to buy?

I don't have the book here in front of me, so I can't give specifics. I like the book though. Contrary to some of the others who have posted, I got some good things out of it. Not all of the races are original or exceedingly useful, but a lot are. I've started to let my players use the book...

    How to start a Homebrew?

As an alternative, you should take a look at Oathbound: Domains of the Forge from Bastion Press. The underlying premise of Oathbound is that there are seven guardians that are essentially jailers of a god (think Tharzidun), assigned their task by other gods. The jailers found a loophole in...

    Dungeonmaster Tabletop Organization

I REALLY like this idea. I think I'm going to have to make a Staples run later today. It's kind of like the cert concept from RPGA Living campaigns. Wonder why I didn't think of this before.... I use a lot of 4"x6" index cards. I have one for each PC with major skills, feats, saves & ACs...

What d20 products do you think are truly the best?

Let's see. Personal favs? Here goes: Personal Best: Oathbound: Domains of the Forge - I don't even plan on running in this setting for quite a while, but I love the book and the content. Bastion Press did a tremendous job with this one and made me rethink looking at some of their other...
