I certainly would find a way to make sure that the players know that they already got the XP for this critter by bypassing it, therefore, while they can go take on the Shadow Dragon, they aren't getting any additional XP. It likely won't change their minds, as they want the horde as well, but...

As someone who plays one, I can assure you I'm not that powerful offensively. In fact, in hindsight, I would not have gone the TWF/Flurry route at all had I realized that the only time it would ever be useful is against large groups of low AC mooks. Considering that my DM almost never throws low...

Also, in 3.5, remember that your hands are either melee and natural weapons. You can magic fang them, but you can also GMW them or even apply potions of alchemical silver... kind of neat actually.

The extra AC is always worth it... the smaller things can miss, and those big giants and dragons that are 'guaranteed' hits? Well, that's really only the first strike and if they power attack, they may just miss. Never give a dragon a chance to Power Attack for +20... or have a good AC if they do.

No books in front of me, but technically, a foe is only flanked when someone attacks that qualifies for flanking... so extrapolating from that, the Rogue would have to be doing the Flanking to qualify for SA. Even if the other fellow flanks your target, you can't attack simultaneously (D&D...

If both require a Full Attack action, I'd rule that you couldn't Flurry and Rapid Shot at the same time... or am I not understanding the problem?

One of the NPC dragons in my next game will have the Vow of Poverty feat path. Yes, he's a little nuts by dragon standards. :)
