They did license it out, and the licensors failed to deliver. Well run companies, of which FFG is one of the few in this industry, make publishing decisions based on sales, not based on some ephemeral notion of "interest" or on how much it's going to be fun to piss off random joe internet...

Wait a minute...I just heard a sound clip from one of the Baldur's Gate games (I think it was the console game Dark Alliance 2) as they were panning in on Ismer. It was the bird/nature sound you get when walking through the woods. I know that's what it was. :)

Oooh, I like this. Now we're getting really far out. You don't play a character, you play the character's legend, and your job is to build yourself up so that the actual person of legend can perform the amazing feats necessary to save the world. :confused:

I chose not to use the word "epic" in the title so as not to confuse "epic levels" of D&D with what I'm talking about. Because really, the Epic Level Handbook seems to have been designed from "how do we extrapolate 1-20 to higher levels" rather than the query that starts this thread. I haven't...
