    Steve Jackson Games 2005 report

Our website is the best place to go for announcements and product info, if it ain't there, I ain't talkin'. :p I'm the Production Manager there, I'm not doing any writing for GURPS.

    Steve Jackson Games 2005 report

Wow! We have a card game department? I always wondered what was behind that black door with all the smoke crawling underneath. :D

GenCon Question from a 1st Timer

It's not on your list, but I would suggest Friday and Saturday as the best 2-day period to go on, although Thursday-Friday is good as well. Sunday everything's winding down, everyone's exhausted, and it won't be as good an experience. It'll be difficult to really enjoy the dealer's room in 1...

    Gamers in Austin, TX???

Well, I'll play on Fridays if you want to drive up here. :p

    Gamers in Austin, TX???

No need to apologize, Austin seems to be pretty dry as far as games are concerned, despite what everyone who doesn't live here seems to think. :p

    Gamers in Austin, TX???

Haven't heard anything around here. Still can't get a game, even! :p

Is Dragon Magazine even *Relevant* anymore?

Binky the jester was one of only two characters I've ever played as high as 16th level from 1st. Man I'd love to do a jester core class for 3rd ed. :)

Tell Wizards your opinions of the new Prestige Class format!

From a designer's perspective, I prefer writing PrCs in this new format. It's more work, but it really helps sharpen the concept and makes each more playable and interesting.

Dallas Gameday 4/10 Games and Signups [Screening Gamers and Transformers: The Movie!]

I may run another Midnight game, this one for 1st-level characters. (The adventure may or may not be the playtest version for a new adventure in Midnight 2nd Edition ;) ). I'd like to gauge interest in such a game before I commit to it, though. :)

    GenCon2005

Overbooking is definitely a problem, but for brand new attendees I would suggest booking at least one, probably two events per day, but no more. This will give the new attendee some structure, otherwise it's REALLY easy just to stand around mesmerized by the amazing plethora of things to do. Try...

People actually play D&D in Austin? :\

    March and Beyond Preview

Champions of Ruin is written with players in mind rather than DMs, as was the case with the earlier book. Of course, there is plenty of material in there for DMs, but this book looks at evil Realms organizations from a "how can I *play* one of those?!?!" perspective.

    I hate cat-people, dog-people, lion-people, etc

Yes, it is. Hands are not paws and people do not naturally purr. Those affectations are just as annoying as if someone went around talking in a Ren Faire accent and flourishing his arms all the time. <poor British accent>Why yes, good sir! I *would* like to super-size my meal, ha HA!"</life> :\

    Dawnforge vs. Morningstar

Considering that ghettognome is my fiancee, what did you expect? :p

Who else finds it difficult to act serious at the gaming table

I'm a "have fun" type of player and DM, so anything really goes at my gaming table. I don't like characters that are goofy for goofy's sake, but I want people to have a good time.

    I hate cat-people, dog-people, lion-people, etc

I think what we need are liger-people. They're pretty much the coolest race in the game.

Need your thoughts on Monster Tokens.

I think the name's should be on the back with funny messages like: "You just killed my Xxyth, beeyotch! --Your DM"

April Dallas Game Day Planning Thread [UPDATED]

Well, Bree and I would probably drive up, but not if it's only going to go til 4. There seriously needs to be some informal games set up outside the Dragon Club for that evening. :) But, I'd probably vote for one long session over two short ones. A 3-hour RPG slot isn't much time to get in the...
