Critical Role The New D&D Book Is 'The Explorer's Guide to [Critical Role's] Wildemount!' By Matt Mercer

I bet it has a lot to do with jealousy deep down. They had/have created a platform that catapults their ability to turn their homebrew setting into a saleable, money printing thing and they get to play D&D for a living. For me, I just don't care for it because I don't care about CR or their...

shudder THAT makes me feel old, but I guess that 3.0 DID come out 20 years ago this coming August. Ugh.

    D&D 5E (2014) Best blaster cleric

I've got a storm giant sorcerer with the Giant Soul UA who uses extensive Booming Blade, Lightning Lure, and Shocking Grasps in combat. I've been tempted to multi to Tempest cleric for the max out damage Channel Divinity.

D&D General Generic: is it Good or Bad?

I'd like to sit the fence on it a bit, but I chose a bad thing. When I read "generic", in my mind it is synonymous with "bland". That said, I have no problem using anything in a game that I run if I want to use it, generic or not.

Critical Role The New D&D Book Is 'The Explorer's Guide to [Critical Role's] Wildemount!' By Matt Mercer

Fair to say. You raise good points about the rules released in those books. I'm not trying to say I didn't like GoS, DiA, or Eberron and what they bring or brought to the table. My point is more about the fact that time spent on tie-in books detracts from other books. Gods... I can only...

D&D General I'm reading the Forgotten Realms Novels- #202 The Howling Delve by Jaleigh Johnson (Dungeons 2)

Hehe. That's a pretty accurate summation of events in this trilogy :) In addition to this trilogy, Malaugrym show up in the first two Spellfire books as well as one of the Harpers books, Stormlight (book 14 in the series). So it kind of depends on your reading order. I'd read Spellfire as...

Critical Role The New D&D Book Is 'The Explorer's Guide to [Critical Role's] Wildemount!' By Matt Mercer

That is relevant to what I was asking. Thank you for sharing. I don't necessarily believe it based on what we've seen in the last 2 years, but at least that is his perspective. We're almost 2 years from Mordenkanan's publication, which is the last "rulebook" published. Since we've gotten...

Critical Role The New D&D Book Is 'The Explorer's Guide to [Critical Role's] Wildemount!' By Matt Mercer

I kind of agree with this sentiment, though not wholeheartedly. I have 0 interest in basically any of the tie-in products, though I don't mind the mainstreaming of D&D. I just wish they'd publish those as additional supplements and not as part of their primary release schedule.

Critical Role The New D&D Book Is 'The Explorer's Guide to [Critical Role's] Wildemount!' By Matt Mercer

Ugh. I cannot say how disappointed I am in this as the big announcement. While I enjoy CR, I have zero desire to play in that game world.

    D&D 5E (2014) Making Dr. Jones

I've done a version of this in a couple of games with the thought that in a world with prevalent magic (as opposed to a couple of relics that he happens to have encountered in his life), Indy would at least have a smattering of it available. My build has been Str based Variant Human. - Indy...

D&D General I'm reading the Forgotten Realms Novels- #202 The Howling Delve by Jaleigh Johnson (Dungeons 2)

Hehe, I'm a sucker for any Elminster fiction. I haven't read this trilogy in a long time, but I love the foes who are the main foes of this trilogy, and book 2 has one of my favorite scenes from FR even if many people don't like it :)
