    D&D 5E (2014) A bit of help with a Fochluclan Lyrist in 5e

When you wild shape as a Bear you gain the Bear's Multiattack Action, which is redundant with Extra Attack isn't it? You get that with wild shape at level 2. Extra Attack from Bladesinger only matters when you're not in Bear form. If you dropped all your bladesinger levels for Druid, you could...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Duskblade?

What is the arcane touch? Is that a 3.5 Duskblade ability?

D&D 5E (2014) Fishing for some bard ideas

Also to fully respond to your original post - Cause Fear, Phantasmal Killer, Eyebite, Wrathful Smite are other good spells that cause the frightened condition on people that fail their saves and I don't think are on the Bard list.

    D&D 5E (2014) March's D&D Book To Be Announced On January 9th

Yeah, Lantan sounds like it's going to have an "expedition to the barrier peaks" kind of vibe to it, if/when we get there. Also, yes, historically it's linked to Spelljammer, which would make the seeding of Neogi, and Giff in earlier books make more sense to me.

D&D 5E (2014) Best way to run a mystery/adventure game for child characters?

If they're kids and you don't want them to have classes... I'd have them roll stats in whatever manner seems best to you and then... that's it. Basically use the NPC commoner stat block with different stats. Depending on how old they are, you could maybe give them Backgrounds so they have a...

    D&D 5E (2014) March's D&D Book To Be Announced On January 9th

Well... That makes me think of Planescape. Specifically this image from the Planescape Torment video game. Maybe combined with a stylized Lady of Pain? But also... Gond I'm hopeful that this is related to the new book.

D&D 5E (2014) Fishing for some bard ideas

Fear? I must say that the description you've posted up there seems much more in line with the College of Whispers than either lore or valor, but your character! If you haven't seen it, I'd just say check it out. I can't second Hunger of Hadar enough if you do go lore bard though. I have a...

    D&D 5E (2014) A bit of help with a Fochluclan Lyrist in 5e

There is also feats to get some Druid flavor without spending levels on it, though that is a drop of the whole grappling/wild shaping trope. Feats to take: Magic Initiate (Druid): 2 cantrips + 1x 1st level spell Ritual Caster (Druid) Wood Elf Magic: +1 druid cantrip, and you learn...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Duskblade?

That is a good 3.5 description for their mechanics!

    D&D 5E (2014) A bit of help with a Fochluclan Lyrist in 5e

Well - one thing I'd throw in there is that you can't cast or concentrate on spells while Raging. So any spells you want up while in melee need to be cast both before you wild shape and can't be concentration. That leaves out Enlarge/Reduce, though Mirror Image is still possible. No shield...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Duskblade?

All jokes aside, I don't see how Monk even "re-skinned" can fit in the Duskblade skin. Duskblade is thematically depicted as an armored sword & board wizard combat wizard. Monk would not fit in there very well IMO

    D&D 5E (2014) The Duskblade?

An interesting idea, that the humans just can't get it quite right and can't balance the combat with the magic as the elves can, so they lean one way or the other, either more fight/less magic or more magic/less fight. I'd probably lean to Sword Bard vs. Valor Bard given that concept since...

    UA Soulknife Rogue character

I think Rogue dipping bard is the way I'd go with this. I'm not sure how many levels you'll be able to play this character. From a 20 level look, I'd aim for Rogue 17/Bard 3. That would get you all of the Soul Knife subclass features while also getting all this from just 3 levels of Lore...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Duskblade?

I love this idea of a human corruption of Bladesinging being the Duskblade. On the spells/class... it's kind of unfortunate as the EK framework fits the duskblade concept much better with the max cap on spells at 5th level for the Duskblade, while the Valor/Sword bard FEEL much more like a...
